Did you set V4A for expert UI? I am assuming so, I'd suggest enabling viper clarity, using xhifi, and adjusting the dB for that setting. Helps a ton for me.

can share ur full settings please

do u use an irs

do u fine tune using poweramp eq

I don't use power amp sorry brother. Don't use irs either, as I haven't had much free time to mess with it, but I plan on it. I'll get the settings in a few. Only thing I really played with now is both bass settings, I have it set to subwoofer mode, boost @30hz, depending on my IEMS or phones, usually boosting minimum of 10db,but often at full, 17db.

I also use dynamic bass at a high percentage, normally around 60%, at times higher. At times lower too. Unknown listening device type III.

If listening at normal or high volumes I enable reverberation, at low volumes I feel it adds distortion that is too audible. Settings at 20, 30, and 70% for damping, wet, and dry respectively.

Have you turned off DVC in Poweramp? On my Galaxy S3 having DVC turned on would keep V4A from working at all.

i don't get man why all of a sudden I get this muffled sound then, when there is no bass or minimal bass the sound is loud and good but once heavy bass kicks in things go downhill and become muffled and the volume gets lower.

I used clarity but i opted for normal as xhifi as i liked it more to preserve the analogue sound

which player are u using

DVC just messes with V4A. Like I said, if DVC was on, V4A wouldn't work.

dvc was on and v4a worked on my note 3, I am just trying to figure out why the muddiness happens

if more people who use v4a can share their settings, and which player they are using and what the setting in the player is

It sounds like your sound processing options in V4A are pushing up the digital output level to beyond clipping, so the V4A output limiter is having to kick in and lower the volume, "muffling" the sound.

What you want to do is to find the Master Gate (Limiter) -> Output Gain at the bottom and set it to some negative value, to lower the level, then increase the volume setting of your phone / player to compensate. Make sure Limit Threshold is set to 0dB.

Also, did you try using the irs file I gave you with your other headphones? And did you ever find out what is the V4A sampling rate for your device?

thanks Joe I have been trying to get your attention for quite sometime now, as i sold my audeze lcd2 and now have the oppo pm1 and i am so so so eager if you can make me an irs file for my oppo pm1, i will be so so thankful if you can send me the irs for oppo pm1 and if possible have one for an extra punchy bass setting and one regular setting

as for lowering the master gate i will follow your advise
