How much bass at what frequency does Xbass button deliver ? I see different measurements from different sources. Can you guys @iFi audio share a ballpark ? Also is impedance of the headphone affects the function of xbass button ? like less or more bass to high impedance headphones etc. It's analog so it maybe affected by impedance.

Great headphone sound? It’s in the CAN! iFi audio ZEN CAN!

Did the IPowerX improve the dac at all?Just picked up a Zen Can. What a great affordable little amp. Even straight out of the box it's sounding pretty nice, and I guess it will only get better. The version I got came with a generic-looking wall wart so I've ordered an iPowerX. Not sure if the extra expense is worth it or not (it's about 75% the price of the Zen Can itself), but figure I'll be keeping it for some time and might as well try and milk all the performance I can from it.
I've previously had the rHead, which was nice but the overall tonality/speed wasn't quite my cup of tea. I also (briefly) had a Fidelice headphone amp, although returned it due to high-pitched ringing which seemed to be a power filtering issue. Not sure how that issue would affect the sound signature but it seemed pretty harsh and a little too punchy to be honest.
I've got a 4.4mm to 4.4mm cable on the way; interested to use the Zen Can with a Plenue L (as the balanced out has quite a different signature), then I can run my single-ended wired B&W P7s in combo with the PL/Can combo.

Hey there,
We don't share these graphs but you can find reviewers that have graphed the differences between all the various implementations out there.
xBass is not affected by impedance.
Thanks!
I didn’t really notice anything actually, but didn’t do extensive listening as I actually decided to return the Zen Can within the free return window I had, as the Violectric V226 had been announced and I decided to switch. Only problem with that plan turned out to be the V226 still isn’t available in ChinaDid the IPowerX improve the dac at all?

Most feedback we got on iPower X instead of a regular PSU or even our iPower is that it's better noticeably enough to justify its cost. Although these differences aren't of night and day, they're meaningful especially with digital products. Thanks!

Woah i checked that out it's 1400€ and very ugly although specs are good. It's a different level product. Zen Can is the best price/perf amp for high impedance headphones out there imo. It's just low impedance high current performance little disappointing.I didn’t really notice anything actually, but didn’t do extensive listening as I actually decided to return the Zen Can within the free return window I had, as the Violectric V226 had been announced and I decided to switch. It would be nice to have more refined zen dac + zen can in a single box with beefier power supply for around $200-$250. Ifi's product line lacking this. Maybe more advanced eq or digital parametric eq feature as well but it would shoot the price high.

I hear you and, although for that price it's not realistic most likely, I'll pass on your feedback, thanks!

What's going on with the support tickets. I've had endless issues with my zen dac and no one responds to the support tickets.

Let me ask when was your ticket created? And did you create more than one? Thanks!

Always happy to help the best we can!
Mine does the same, but if I put my hand on the chassi it disappear, it seems as it is some earth problem.Anybody know why the volume pot on the Zen CAN crackles? Have experienced it upon testing two different units, one was worse the other. The unit is deadly quiet when the knob is still, but with any twisting it sounds like cats on Velcro…

Just recently one our customer reported back that he had that problem. It turned out that a 4.4mm cable that went in-between his ZEN DAC and ZEN CAN was faulty and didn't provide earth to the latter ZEN.
