Grado e Series

I recently purchased a pair of SR325e headphones that so far have met and/or exceeded my expectations.  One of the great things about this hobby and Grados is the ability to tinker.  Anyhow, I'm thinking of trying some G cushions and was wondering if anyone has experience with both Grado's and Ear Zonk's versions and if so what are your thoughts.
I think the EZ is more comfortable but the Grado sounds better.

That means you didn't choose good cushions for the RS1e.

The RS1e, with G-Cush is brighter and more excited than the SR225e.

I see several people talking about the differences in the PS500 and the PS500e... Have any of you done some a/b testing of the 2 pairs? I have the first version, and mine are in great shape; I could probably switch to the e version for not all that much money, but is it really worth it? Really need to get to one of these meets one day...

Short answer, yes, upgrade to the e version. I had an original PS500 since they first came out and liked it very much. The new e is better, more refined mids and highs, better bass detail. It is a worthy step up.

Regards,
:)

My 500e gets here this week, noticed your response to the Nashville Meet, perhaps we can find a place in the middle so we can do a little A/B testing.

No other cushion than the (L) cushions for the RS1i for me.

with TTVJ Flat Pads coming in 2nd.

+1 Agreed, the L-Cush are the best

I would absolutely be up for that.

I just pulled trigger buying a MS2e from Alessandro. The MS2e was the headphone I intended buying before I acquired my slightly used SR325e.

Base on the comments I got from muzic4life, the MS2e is a slightly mellower version of the SR325e with smoother voicing across the FR. I like my SR325e very much, especially when it is paired with my  5751 / 832a transformer output amp in the office. However, I find the SR325e sound a bit grainy when paired with my home SS setup and think I can enjoy something smoother. With the MS2e I also don't have to transport my SR325e between home and office.

I nearly decided buying the PS500e, but decided against it because I probably don't like a "dark" Grado. People are saying the SR325e is already 95% of a PS500e so I decided not to spend the additional.

Another attractive point of the MS2e is it is still available with a 1/4" plug from Alessandro. My SR325e also has a 1/4" plug.

I hope I can received the MS2e within 2 weeks and do some comparison.
