or is it still best to get the real ones

I used to like the Jays, but now the large triple flange tips from the Meelec M6 set are king. The have the clarity of the Jays tips, yet add depth and a tiny bit of power to the sound. Maybe it's the ear rape from having those things shoved in, but I like them far more than any tip I've tried. They're almost like a combination of the Jays tips and the Hifiman biflanges.

You can get a 3 pack for $5 here: http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronics_Original_Triple_flange_Eartips_p/tipset3-tf35l-mrg-bk.htm

Oh come on, someone must have tried custom eartips on the gr07. I am gonna buy a pair soon so i really want to know how to get most out of them, isolation and fit matter alot to me since i have trouble getting the same fit and isolation in both ears. My ear canals must be different. So custom eartips should adress that problem. Anyone?

From what I understand of custom tips themselves (more familiar with reshells then tips, sorry), they mainly help with the fit and not so much the isolation.  If you have a dig around headfi there should still be someones notes on when they had acs tips made for the sennheiser ie8.  I would imagine the experiences would be somewhat similar.  If the gr07 isolates reasonably well now then tips should only improve the situation if only by very little.  Do a search for sennheiser ie8 acs tips.  That should get you something.

Cheers.

Got em, tried em. These things rape my ears hard. They also fall out in my ears whenever I pull them out lol.

I bought the triple flange from Meelec and can't wait to try them on my GR07's.

Got around to trying them. Ear rape is an apt description, lol. I didn't know I could stick something so long into my ears. The MeElec large triple flange did bring on some bass, I recall, without it doing something untoward to the high notes. I'll have to try it again tomorrow having gotten over the physical sensation and able to concentrate on the sound.

I went back to Jays :)

I tried to, but I couldn't stand the loss in the depth of sound that the triple flanges bring.

It took me a couple of days to get accustomed to it.

Ok, so I have a few comments along with some questions.

I have tried the triple flange M6 tips....they actually don't rape my ears, however they don't provide a good seal for me.  And not only that but I seem to be allergic to the material those and others of similar material, my ears always itch with them in.  As for the sound with them since they don't provide a good seal, I don't really like them.

Surprisingly what I've found works best for me so far is the stock foam tips.  It's got a nice warm signature and not so harsh a treble.  Also they seal very well for me, which for me is the most important thing I look for.

Does anyone else have the itching problem with some material?  It's odd because I've never found anything else I'm allergic to.  It happened with my old UE earbuds as well.
