Besides the Beats by Dre studio, what pair of cans can I buy for $250> I want a pair of cans with great bass response.. Are there any cans out there that have better bass than the beats by dre for around the same price? With better quality sound as well? Any help is appreciated.. Thanks

Check out the Audio Technica ATH-M50, it is well under your budget but has pretty good SQ.

You may also want to consider the Sony XB-700

I have the XB500, and considering these are a step up, they probably have an INSANE amount of bass.
No, I'm serious. They probably have equal, if not more, bass than the beats. The 500's bass give me headaches, the 700's probably make your ears bleed.

Possibly check out the M-audio q40's or Denon AH-D2000's

Both ( especially the M-audio's - about 130$ ) can be found under your budget, have powerful, clean bass. They outdo the Beats in pretty much every other aspect as well.

A lot of people recommend dt770/80s (preferably with a SS amp). These are considered to be extremely "bassy"

About the Senns, I have a hd650 and its not "bassy" per say but the bass is extremely accurate and sometimes punchy. I thought I was a bass head until I listened to these cans and realized I'm not...when I prefer lots of booming bass, nothing beats an actual subwoofer. I don't think headphones can compete with that.

well I have the Logitech z5500s for loud bass. 10 inch subwoofer, 5.1 surround sound. But I am looking for some cans around $200, I feel that buying something way under my budget I wont get a good pair of cans, I know this is not true but I feel like the more I spend the better, I wanna get the best I can at this price range, I was thinkin of the HFI 780s

If you want bass go for the HFI 580 instead. The 780 is more balanced, but 580 is one of my favorite bassheadphones. It has high resolution for the amount of bass it has and no matter how you EQ the 780, it will never give you the amount of bass that the 580 can. In my experience, only the Sony XB series can trump the 580s in bass quantity, but inexchange, the Sony's have truly terrible treble resolution. The 580s also have alot more bass impact than even the Monster Beats and overall better sound quality.

The 580 is much more energetic sounding than the 780s. The 780 is more balanced, but sounds almost completely different IMO. Not exactly an "upgrade".
