Iphone users: a solution for ya, just get an adroid phone 😭 I didn't know it was such a struggle to get a codec on it. I thought I had problems having to use wirelesse from no headphone jack.

I'm actually an android user now leaning toward iphone. I had it with Galaxy S24U. I'm tired the battery draining fast. I'm very tired..... I want the Apple seemless integration, but I'm a PC gamer, so I can't do Mac, otherwise I would go all Mac system so I can have that airpods seemsless integration accross all devices. The wireless exprience is very ghetto as a PC gamer.

I want the effciency of the new M processors, but again, I'm a PC gamer has to use those PCs that looks like toys made in Taiwan, with bright flashy nightclub colors. My video card alone uses 350 watts working as a room heater. This is the PC gamer experience.

For awhile, only reason for Android was the headphone jack, but now that I gone, and Galaxy S24U won't let me split the usb-c for headphone jack and charging.

I'm just tired of all this, just tired... I don't need wireless. get rid of wireless!!!! Let's go back to wired please, when the times were simple.
As long as you stick with companies that implement AAC well, Apple, Sony, Sennheiser, Bose and others, you’ll get good to excellent sound with iPhones 👍

FYI the Windows Alt A2DP Driver Dev filled my request and has updated it to allow higher bitrates on AAC for devices that support them, now a few of my earbuds can do 330-350k approx. instead of 250k approx. (cannot remember the exact the numbers).

The notes do not seem to mention it but I get higher on both 44.1k and 48k.

Release Notes (Version 1.5.0.62)

Key changes since the last official release (version 1.5.0):

Bug Fixes:

  • AAC CODEC bitrate was limited to 250kbps (for 48kHz sampling, stereo) even if the headphones can support a higher bitrate.
  • AAC CODEC could cause more CPU activity than necessary.
  • A2DP connection may fail on devices that have limitation on streaming data packet size (i.e., devices with an unusually small MTU for the AVDTP media channel).
New Features:

  • Integrated offline FAQ to the program.
  • Added explanation of device errors in case of A2DP connection failure.

Which earbuds announce (as in verbal in your ear?) the codec?
Thought it was the Fokus buds but turns out it's only the iFi Go pods. Just put them in and they announced they're using aptX Adaptive.

Couldn’t agree more the ease of use. You do need to download the Creative app on windows if you want to enable “lossless”. I am a HUGE fan of the W6.
No Windows in this house. Some of my buds, the Fokus Triumph & PI8 automatically connect via aptX Lossless. Maybe that's not correct, but the yellow light is there.

AFAIR Lossless is on by default on both the Creative and FiiO Dongles as Adaptive/Lossless are not separate (for now) and FiiO do not have a separate LED colour for Adaptive/Lossless (for now) but Creative do.

Yellow is Lossless on the BT-W6 and any devices should try and first try and connect to the highest supported/available Codec.

The Creative BT-W6 is tempting. As a fellow iPhone user, is the BT-W6 a noticeable sound upgrade. I appreciate your thoughts.
Tough question to answer. Really up to you. No, with some buds, it's not a HUGE difference because I do feel AAC holds its own, again, depending on the buds. For instance, my Prestige sound stellar on AAC, but the PI8 kick up a notch using the W6 and aptX Lossless. It's a toy, gadget to have fun with. I wouldn't go walking around the city with it attached. But it's fun at home. Hey now.
