Can anyone speak to how the new gb3 pros do in wind?
They are OK. I find them about as effective as the Elite 10 and the WF-1000XM5.

Many of the earbuds with the longest battery life (some have 2-3 Drivers and/or Dedicated DAC's) are non stem models, the stem has one real advantage and this is it gets the mic a touch closer to your mouth.
I suspect that the steam also allows for better antenna placement, which is huge when it comes to radio frequencies.

I don't know if it's been mentioned here before, but the Galaxy buds pro 3 support LE audio, which as far as I know is bound to the LC3 codec. I enabled it on my Pixel and there seems to be a slight improvement over AAC. I'll have to do some A/B tests against SSC on the Galaxy Tablet to get a better sense. One indicator that it's LE audio is that the battery percentages are now separate, left and right.

For now LE Audio earbuds can come with the LC3 codec or none at all so basically does nothing until/if they add it via a FW.

I have had both the above cases and AFAIK by past reading aptX (I assume the whole family) can be made to run on LE Audio and will someday, not sure on LDAC though.

The AKG N5 Hybrid uses LC3+ for the Dongle which uses WIFI AFAIK.

Thanks. Ordered a pair. With $50 off plus another $50 off for trading any old crappy tws buds, i couldn't resist. As much as i hate the walled garden approach, I've got a Flip 6 and Watch 7, so i guess I'll have a picnic in the garden.

It’s really nice the Pi8 does both. Interesting that the M300 does not give a choice.
On android I use an app. called Bluetooth Codec Changer that allows control over LDAC settings. Not certain if it's available for other OS's.

B&W Pi8, why the big size difference between M and L tips??
L is just too big, M is just too small.
Ended up using M on the left, L on the right, but not an optmal solution...

I need to use the original ones, due to the sibilance with tips without a filter.
The filter in the original ones is quite densed (test blowing through it, and you will see what I mean), so I think that's why the Pi8 doesn't sound sibilant with them.

Sooo... any tips for tips? Something M+ sized with a similar filter??

the APP2 have actually become my go to running buds, ever since my Bose QC1 fell into a red-white flashing light coma (as documented by many on reddit) ... best sound / ANC comfort while barely having a footfall thud.
nothing beats APP2 for running ive got to say

A little bit more about LE Audio on GBP3. It's funny, it starts off ok then constantly goes out of left/right phase. The effect is a like random spatial processing, interesting but useless. I imagine they will eventually fix it and then make it a firmware release feature.

Overall, I really like these. Never having owned an an iPhone or Air Pods, I think the GBP3 succeed in being the closest to that in Android. Excellent sound quality and ANC along with tiny size, great comfort and a host of usability features like voice detection to ambient mode. Another standout is call quality, easily the best I've heard from the listening side, very loud and clear thanks to the double-wide bandwidth feature they have.

For the $75 I paid after discounts and a trade-in of some drawer junk they are a steal, But I would pay up to $200 for these as a pocketable daily driver.

My wife uses the same, a med. and large. Which is strange because usually she uses M or smaller. Mediums usually fit me and here one side feels a little small but not enough to go up a size.

She really likes them. She’s taking the dog for a walk using them outdoors for the 1st time. If she had any brilliant insights I’ll post. But remember the noise canceling story if she comments. lol

How did you use the LE audio. I am using S23 Ultra and do t see any way to enable that? Yet another feature not available until I have One UI 6.1.1?
