I'm currently trying both. I'm having a hard time telling the difference on LDAC. ANC at 100% seems to be on par and it seems like my ears are OK with it.
The Sonys are louder though. I don't know if this is a deciding factor.
I was tinkering with the free version of Bluetooth Codec Changer on my ZX707 but I couldn't find a way to have the highest LDAC setting to stick (990). Is this limited to the paid version?
Thanks, that's good to know! I'm still undecided though. Some reviews say the XM5 have way better ANC than the AZ80. I didn't find much difference. The ZX5 are slightly smaller for sure and they have a little more bass but nothing some EQing can fix. I wish I could try them both at a live show to compare.

EDIT: Sorry I misread as the Windows Alt AD2P driver App but I do use the Android BCC App also but it can be PIA in Android 14 with Poweramp etc ( it was ok on older phone with Android Pie) as it still changes settings but works in Tidal even Adaptively changing the bitrate to match the files for each track/album.
I did not post that link on Amazon UK (thanks to mcnaugha for the heads up) due to the fact that is very obvious a Placeholder Price for now.
I ordered directly from Creative for £49.99 but assume it may come from Amazon warehouse (Soundpeats did this for me a few times with RMA's) due to the offered delivery times and fact I paid extra for 1-3days.
Thank you. Btw current I have the original first Buds Pro's from 2021, not the Buds 2 Pro. Do you remember those Buds Pro's, many people thought they sounded the best so I wonder if Buds 3 Pro sounds better.
And also are you sure that Buds 3 Pro sounds better than Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4? My confusion keeps getting bigger
I have owned all 3 Galaxy Buds Pro models and i find the newest to sound the best. But i am also OK with the switch to a stick style which some people hate. I struggled with fit.on the first pair a lot so did not keep them long and the GB2P had a similar issue but was a bit better. The new pair still is not perfect but again better. Enough so I am satisfied.
Do they sound better than the MTW line? I only owned the MTW3 so can only compare to that model not the MTW4. Having said that, I do think the 4 will only be an iterative step up. The short answer is NO they won't sound better just different. Because both models have similar features and sound quality neither can truly be said to be better. Since bith now have excellent EQs they also can be adjusted to sound more to taste. This is one area that Samsung was horrible at withe the first 2 versions since you were stuck with just presets.
I have owned the original MTW and the MTW3 and the gap was because I swore I would not buy the MTW again after the first one because of its issues. Eventually I caved and got the MTW3 a few years later. It sounded extremely good and has arguably the best wind filtering mode of any TWS I have tried. But suddenly it started to do a weird chirping sound in my left ear and then that stopped but it now has a weird issue in ANC where it feels like pressure that is uncomfortable that didn't originally exist before the beeping incident. So in short they are malfunctioned. I read the 4 has similar issues... so again I am not sure Ibwant to take a chance on the new model.
2nd issue is MTW only does APTx XXX while Samsung refuses to only do APTx standard so you can't ever get the best sound quality.
Having said all that if you want bud not a stick style the MTW4 will probably make you very happy and it does do a great anti wind feature. Just be aware to either buy added warranty or be willing to deal with the pain of shipping them away if they develop issues.
Sony also sounds good and again can be great if you love their sound style. It is just warmer sounding out of the box. So it depends if you really like the Samsung Harmon curve sound style.
I need to sell my Sony but use it regularly so keep procrastinating. But if I could only have one I would keep the GB3P.
I have a suggestion that might help alleviate some confusion in this thread, or at least make it easier to follow the multiple topics. Because there are so many different items under discussion, perhaps it would be useful if everyone noted at the start of a post (original or follow-up) exactly what piece of hardware is under discussion.

Thank you so much for the lengthy reply, I appreciate it a lot. The Buds 1 Pro i'm currently using also had the "Harman" sound style from the reviews i'm reading from 2021. And currently i'm really happy with the tuning and have no problems. But sadly I don't actually know what a Harman tuning is, and is it the norm. So in your opinion, how would you describe the Harman tuning compared to Sennheiser and Sony's tuning? What kind of sound is waiting for me between these three models? Sadly I can't do try&refund on earbuds in my country.

Not a terrible idea but not likely to work in practice. We've survived here for 4412 pages! I'm all for innovation however but for the most part, just replying to the post seems to work for 99.9999% of us.
