Picky audio. Fyi he rates Nothing Ear the 2nd best Tws, considering he has options on his list $350-400 kinda shows how good of a deal they are, which echoes the thoughts of myself and others here. I think he's solid.
The nothing ear hit way above their weight. It's a solid rec, but I couldn't get a decent seal. I'd still take h anc over them with the caveat that the nothing ear has a better all around package and tech, while I find the sound and anc of the H to be superior.

Yeah I'd say, as most people have tried Airpods Pro, if you love that fit, Nothing Ear will be perfect. It's virtually identical with ever so slightly less tapered tips, but they've basically copied the entire APP geometry and tip size. If APP was a problem for people, steer clear.

Not sure how Sony or Bose could even be in same league with Sennheiser's SQ unless you like their own bass heavy sound signatures which have improved for Sony on the XM5 (so I read as only owned up to the XM4) and Bose on QC Gen 2 (also apparently the Ultra's by my reading but I owned the QCII's).

Any suggestions for a true wireless IEM that has a character like my Focal Clear and Focal Bathys? ANC is OK, but not necessary. I don't care about microphone use. LDAC and aptX-Adaptive or HD are necessary.

Something better than my Sony XM4.
Not many outside Chi models on AliExpress have LDAC+aptX family esp. Adaptive and if they do like the FiiO FW3/5 and EarFun Air Pro 4 they shoehorned LDAC in using Snapdragon Sounds compression so it can act up on non Snapdragon certified phones, on the former it is still in beta (typical FiiO) and on the latter you need to disable all other codecs to use LDAC.

To have aptX HD on any TWS earbuds is rare but B&W used to add this stand alone codec along with aptX Adaptive on their neckbands/ TWS earbuds until the last release before the new Pi6/8 that are just out AFAIR

More than anything, I'm looking at resolution when I say sound quality. I EQ, so less concerned with tuning, broadly, though I am a basshead so love a good thump, but a clean thump. I want clear, but strong oomph for the bass, wide stage, and good extension for tuning if possible. If I don't care for the tuning, but resolution is strong, thst works for me as long as EQ can make it suit my tastes.

He's a pretty good reviewer too. Obviously it's all subjective to how he hears each unit, but it's all pretty straight to point and covers a lot of territory

Currently has the new oneplus pros as his all round #1

Anyone owns an LG TV and also the Aviot ZX1 or PNK version?

I tend to have random drop outs and crackling on one side of my ZX1 PNK when paired with the LG G2 OLED.

Could anyone with the same or similar LG TV setup help to do a quick test on the above?

Trying to find out if it's an issue with the buds or just the LG TV's Bluetooth implementation.

No issue with dropouts with ZX1 on my G1.

Whoops, I made an error about the connection.

Google pixel buds pro 2.
qjdjNsW.jpeg

These buds are tiny. They are very comfortable and light, like not wearing anything in the ears. The wings do a very good job of keeping the buds in the ears.

Sound quality wise, google has tuned it to a somewhat audiophile profile, with bright highs, fast mids and non sloppy bass. Timbre is excellent, with vocals sounding realistic. I turned up the mid bass a tad to give voices and instruments more warmth, which I prefer. Sub bass can hit hard when required. Soundstage is very wide left right, front back not so much.

ANC is good, slightly inferior to Bose. They don't suffer from "thumps" when going over bumps in a moving vehicle, like some of my buds do when ANC is turned on.

Full controls are available on the buds. The case is about the same size as the previous gen, the new one is very slightly taller, maybe to accommodate the new speaker in the case.

^^ Is the Passive Seal+ANC (as both do better at certain frequencies) good for sleeping if battery can do 8hours at low volume with brown noise.

Bose's new style from QCII/Ultra have zero passive seal for me but the ANC is still works the best.

FYI I have not heard the thump on these QC Gen 2's (2024) unlike on the QCII's (more so was in my left ear) when I walked with ANC enabled.

Passive seal isn't good, probably blocks only about 30% of external noise I reckon. With ANC, they are pretty good. The sound quality without ANC sounds more "boxy" and muddier as well. These buds are designed to be used with ANC.

Yes the QCII gave me the thumps, the oppo enco x2 as well.

Bathys are such a good headphone, really wonderful sound and I hope to get one one of these days.
Surely Focal have something in the pipeline in terms of wireless in ears. Enjoyed their Spher wired in ear when I had them.

How about latency? Is it very noticeable?

Will do more testing on my setup tonight.
I'm watching Netflix and there is no delay.'

Apologies for giving you bum scoop. I realized I use Apple TV and pair to it, not the LG. When I just tried 3 different times pairing to the TV directly, the ZX1 would pair but no sound. After @10 seconds, ZX1 would disconnect and the sound bar/ARC would engage.

Good of guess as any. The only ones who know are at Focal. Seems like a very tight market since there are a lot of companies who are doing wireless earbuds. Granted, they would most likely going after a more audiophile target, which, I assume, will have a price to match like Sennheiser and other well known brands in the audiophile sector.
