Oh man, the PI8 among one of the best TWS overall. Top sound, great fit, solid connection, more than than loud enough, premium build. Gotta mess with them more to love them more
On the subject of messing around with your gear.. I had a tinker with my Sony WF-1000XM4 EQ last night, boy did it bring them alive. It's like a rejuvenation, I'm excited to use them some more.

This is going to sound like sacrilege on this board but the “TWS” that has been getting the most mileage lately is my Meta Ray Bans. Surprisingly they have decent sound quality for what’s essentially an open design speaker, however the bass is lacking.

And for once a battery test at 80% volume though still AAC… but no talk time figures, which seem to be dropping rather than increasing. The new OnePlus Pro Buds 3 for example claim 6 hours AAC/ANC/50% but only 4 hours talk with the same test.

Anyone have issues with the app recognizing the Pi8? It will set up, but randomly when I reopen the app, it doesn't recognize the buds.

B&W Pi8, a little sibilant with original tips, and especially with AZLA Crystal TWS tips... any tips for tips? :) (EQ them?)
Almost a little "screechy" 🤔😱 (especially with mainstream pop/rock/alternative music)

Also a little annoying that you have to pick either Siri/NC settings, or Volume settings in customize controls, not both (long press)

No tips will heal that, I had found on the first Pi7 a bad peak at 12800hz and applied a -15db gain (can't remember the Q) but no frequency response, if anyone will ever publish it, will give you the exact measurement for your own ears.
Anyway in this review the guy says that b&w, thanks to the new drivers (?), changed the tuning, discarding the old V shape signature, so it could be relatively easy to identify a peak over 10k and apply a bell filter. However the problem could be also around 7-8k, if you says that azla crystal increase that effect, I remember that those tips are really effective around that frequency.

Thanks for your insight.

I think this will be the first time I will use the original tips. Don't think I tried them properly, due to I always save them for when I want to sell the TWS secondhand.

The original tips are actually not sibilant at all, and have a little filter to avoid earwax and dirt I guess. This seems to limit sibiliance compared to other open tips and especially wide bore tips as well.

The Pi8 sounds very good, and I like almost everything quite well. Touch controls, ANC, comfort and mics (have had some calls, and everybody is pleased with the sound of my voice).
But... it's not miles ahead of the MUCH cheaper Earfun Air Pro 4... it really isn't.

Most if not all the newer AZLA range of ear tips have a built in filter now.
Not my Crystal TWS... Here on the Air Pro 4s. They are amazing with the Earfuns!

Nada. Using an iPhone 15 Pro primarily.
