Is it easy to switch between ANC and heartrough on the Pi8? Does the music gets paused or lowered? Does it revert back to music/playback with 1 touch?

That's one thing that Final did really well, they've got 2 different ambient modes, one for conversations were the music gets lowered by a lot, and one mode ordinary ambient mode for when you just want to become more aware of your surroundings.

B&W Pi8 pairings and codecs.

Initially paired to iPhone & MB Air...w/o issues. Tried pairing to the HiBy M300 and 3 diff Pi8s showed, tried, and were rejected. After reseting using the case, I was able to pair both to the M300 & my Sony Android DAP ~ 1.2.3. Maintaining connections now to both Apple and Android and switching back and forth no problems between all 4.

Interesting that LDAC is whited out on the M300 and was being used on the Sony, so both are operational in the Pi8 but not usable on the M300. :selfie:
I used a Senn Momentum headphone that had both when I first checked out the M300 and was able to choose with them. I'll try using both codecs using the earfun Pro 4s (testing is the reason I bought them  to see if it works with the M300.

ZX1 vs Pi8....still going at it using the Sony. No question these are TOTL devices battling it out. Going back and forth picking a winner for sound, is like listening with Rock 'Em Sock Em Robots! Same colors too! Red AVIOT vs Blue B&W!

Moving on to ANC testing next

If it makes you feel any better I had issues getting it to work tonight (normally fine), worked for a while and then fell back to Adaptive for rest of night.

EDIT: 2 reboots later: It really is a PIA and not worth it IMO and if I did want Truly Lossless I could simply listen though the speakers or wired earbuds like I have since CD's came out in 1986.

Don't know how relevent this is but this is the guidance on the Earfun app regarding AptX Lossless
Suggests that Wifi might interfere with lossless

bluetooth runs at 2.4ghz, so if you have a 2.4ghz wifi network, it can interfere with the bandwidth avaiable,

Also Dect wireless home phones and microwaves. as well as baby monitors and home alarms.

I already know all that and that is what I look for and there is no way to tell on the EarFun App if you using Lossless or not, I am returning them for various reasons nothing to do with Lossless.

I've been pushing the mids (1k & 2k) a bit higher for slightly darker, clear vocals, and it still retains excellent clarity throughout. Also just tested with the diofit multi flange ear tips. They do tend to be slightly smaller than the regular tips, hence more comfortable with identical or better isolation. Loving the GB3P's sound with a bit of tinkering.

I've had my Sony Wf-1000XM4 earphones for a couple of years, the right bud's battery is severely decreased, where it's losing almost all charge in about 1.5 hours. So, I've been reading through this thread & am getting some interesting insight on what's available out there.

I'm going to try & see if Sony will replace the battery, or give a replacement pair, have little hope for either of those outcomes. So, the search for a new pair will begin.

I run & cycle with my TWS, so they need to be stable in the ear, as well would prefer a nozzle large enough to fit tips such as Spin Fit or AZLA tips.

The B&W interest me, especially with the case technology, but they do appear rather large & bulky, have concerns how the fit would be with my ears. Not opposed to get the WF-1000XM5.

Any other suggestions? I'm in the Apple ecosystem, but not interested in Airpods.

I sent my xm4s back to Sony and they replaced my set. It had the same issue as yours. This was last year before xm5 was launched.

I'm not in a rush, as am also using Sennheiser CX Plus TWS to get me by. Incidentally, the sound in those is pretty damn good in my opinion, have that Sennheiser crispness in the bass that I love from my IE300. Just find they sit in my ear a little strange at times, not so snuggly as the Sony's.

In any case, the B&W, is the nozzle a little longer, so plenty of insertion for a deeper fit? Something that annoys me with a lot of TWS, are the nozzles tend to be short, which means not as deep an insertion & the shell pushing on the inside of my ear as I try to push in more.

I love a good seal.

You don't need longer nozzles for a good seal. Case in pt Bose QC Ultras, they seal really well without inserting deep and super comfortable. I hate the Sony's due to be their long nozzle design. I guess Bellos Audio X4 managed something similar to Bose in IEM universe. I have the B&W Pi4, and they were super comfy too (the cables broke so useless now).

AKG N5 Hybrid have short nozzles and ear tips and seal really well usually first time for me (esp. left ear as my larger side) without having to mess about and if I use anything other than my own AZLA TWS range of ear tips (i.e. standard) they do not fit in the charging case and for some reason will fail the fit test in the App.
