Thank you for testing!
I also get a bit more footfall thump on my XM5 compared to the Elite 10

My best 2 TWS for lack of footfall sound are Elite 10 and Galaxy Bud 3 Pro.

I would give the GB3P the edge for sound quality and Elite 10 the edge for comfort and over all stability.

While I prefer to GB3P for sound this does not make the Elite 10 bad in any way. Both sound good, just the one is a bit better than the other.

Very interesting... The Elite 10 Gen 2 and AKG N5 are both possible next tryouts for me.

50db of noise reduction? That sounds impossible to me. Most ANC claims are far from what is measured in reality. Rtings actually measures them in a controlled setup and they put Sony and Bose buds at the top at 27db of reduction. Shure and Etymotic IEMs claim 37db of passive isolation as I recall.
All the Asian earbuds have inflated numbers, do you really believe the number for Soundcore/Edifier/Earfun/Soundpeats who are all around the high 40's low 50'setc?

I definitely don’t believe them - I am just pointing out that it is a likely inflated claim because it was mentioned here. Personally I am often surprised by reviewers who seem to speak positively about the ANC performance of these random brands. For example many reviews of the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC praise its ANC, but to me it is pretty basic. Although I guess that could be due to shallow fit (and unfortunately you can’t tip roll with their proprietary nozzle shape).

Anyone have thoughts on Samsung Buds 3 Pro bass? I find the mid-bass plenty but feels like it lacks the Sub bass. Since it has a planar tweeter and a DD for low end(bass) along with a separate amp for the DD, I expected better bass...

I was coming here is ask if anyone had an eq they could share.

Owning them less than 24 hours I'm using dynamic and I like it but it's probably a tad harsh in the highs.
Found these EQ settings from a Car sound engineer on reddit but these are supposed to be true to life flat response...
0 -2 +2 +1 0 -1 -2 -1 +1

Mine are like this:
+4 +2 0 0 +2 +2 +3 +4

After playing around with the B&W Pi8, would advise the following:
  • Of course, pair the device, if you notice any popping on ANC , sound balance issues or volume. Leave "as is"
  • Perform FW update
  • Then on Android go into BT settings and forget device, on Settings/Apps/B&W Music clear cache and storage.
  • Do a factory reset: place earbuds in case, press reset button for 3-5 secs until amber light flashes, release, wait for green light per user manual ( https://www.bowerswilkins.com/on/de...KhD5RG0BvNunNK7v5F1Kau8Rp6Ctjw3r01vcwGOyqCHVF )
  • Perform pairing again.
Found that this cleared all issues, was able to test with a 2nd set of Pi8. Don't know if the issues are from factory or from the FW update. However, found 2 sets to be completely fixed and working great after that process.

I’m not showing a firmware update. What build are you on?
