Sure. I like how you capitalized Status Simple for effect. You are very persuasive. I am putting my iPhone up for sale now as a result of your Jedi mind tricks.
That is because in German, substantives are written upper case. I randomly mistype that, there is no intention to emphasis on any word by doing that, its just an syntax error

The current marketshare (last quarter 2024), worldwide, was ~29%. That is not 50% of the world. Who told you that? Marques Brownlee?

And i am pretty sure that most of these 29% use Apple Earphone/Headphone.

You buy an iPhone to show others you can afford Apple products, it makes no sense to buy an In-Ear from AKG then (even if its more expensive).

I commute every day and i rarely, if ever, see an iPhone user who does not have Apple receivers. You buy an iPhone as an Status Symbol, so you have to wear an status symbol in your ear too, otherwise it doesn't make sense to own an iPhone in the first place.

So the group of people who want to use LDAC and own iPhone is an rather small one i'd say. Its a loud one and so appears bigger than it is, but in reality, its a rather small one. And at least statistics from Sony confirm that.

And yes, i know, for people from the US, status symbols are insanely important and hence the sales figures of iPhones are very high. And because the sales figures of iPhones in the US are high, the ones in Japan are also high because it must be good if it sells in the US.

But the US is not the world. That might be new for you, but look on a map, its true.
It's not about using LDAC with an iPhone. It's 2.4ghz wireless, the file is uncompressed.

Dude, I don't buy my iPhones to show off my status. Give me a break. I have iPhones and Android gear. Don't generalize your own opinion in that realm. It's not constructive. If I want LDAC, Aptx etc., I use my DAP. You're making unfair assumptions about us Americans. Be smarter.

How's the build quality in comparison to the old N400 tws? Used to love those.

Pardon me if I missed this earlier in the thread. I have a pair of Campfire Orbits. I'm pleased with the sound signature, but they have a lot of connectivity issues with my phone--they often skip and drop out. But you know us audiophiles always want more...

In light of Prime Day sales, I'm weighing the Technic AZ-80 and the Denon PerL Pro. I'm also wondering more generally if either compares to the Noble TWS flagship of the moment.

IYO is worth snagging the PerL or AZ-80 as an upgrade to the Orbits? Or should I just wait it out and save up for top end Noble once the financial fates smile upon me? Thanks!

I actually have both. The N5 to me is a much better fit, at least for me. Feels a bit more ergonomic in my ears. I actually like the N5 better than the N400 and I really liked the N400. N5 is a great overall tws; agree totally with subguy812 these are the real deal. Build quality is very solid. Lighter than the N400 but very solid constructed.

Can anyone take a photo of size comparison between some current cases and the new AKG N5? Curious...

BTW; The AKG N5005 are back down to $159.00. These are IEM's, they come with several cables and a Bluetooth behind the ear thingie.
MSRP was $999.00 at one time. In this market, I'd say they are worth $300-$400.00. I use the original Bose at Stayfit tips that just cover the
earhole. They work amazingly on these IEM's and rival some of my high end over ears.

For crying out loud, not everyone buys an iPhone because it’s a status symbol.
Me personally I’m rocking an old iPhone fully covered with a phone case so no one could even tell it’s an iPhone.
I couldn’t care less, too old for that.
I buy Apple phones for completely different reasons.

Wow! Anyone have thoughts on how they compare to the Technics AZ-80?
