Geek HPA by LH Labs

I don't care if it's not acknowledging anything, if it sounds great Il'l be all over. I like the box design, it's a heck of a departure compared to the Vi line which I thought was pretty unique. I think those design kids are starting to warm up to the mainstream case designs but with an artistic flair.

If it's lacking coherence it's because the Pulse was so off track that the HPA makes it look like passé.

Larry ho confirmed you can power geek hpa with lps4. He didn't say if regular LPs would work

On earlier discussion on HPA, Larrys says the Tube HPA needs two connectors on the LPS4 (1 x 1.2a and 1 x 0.5a)

Video on HPA is up:

Cool

Each output (xlr, se 1/4, trs 3.5) will have its own circuit.

I'm wondering if the 3.5 could be trrs so we can use the balance IEM they had offered with the Wave.

Also wondering if the tube version will have RCA outs like the Vi tube.

And if tube rolling will be easy.

So what's the jig. Back the First to Know perk and then get it now instead of tomorrow? hahahaha. well to be honest i think im gonna sit on this before it becomes its own full blown campaign with all its perks. its tempting with the analog volume control and the 3.5mm jack but making it a 3 stack for the Pulse LPS. though LPS cant be used with both the Pulse and HPA right?

It seems fairly obvious that backers of the First to Know perk get more than just a day of early access to the HPA. And the HPA won't be getting its own dedicated campaign. They've already started launching it in the Geek Audio campaign and they've told us that there will be a hard limit on the number of HPAs available. But there does appear to be a perk to upgrade the HPA already available.

The standard LPS cannot be used with both the Pulse and the HPA but the LPS4 can.

Yeah the fact that the LPS4 is needed for both the HPA and Pulse to work together is quite the deal breaker for me as I already invested in the LPS. Got to hear the Pulse (not sure if its vanilla or Xfi) and if that short listen is any indication I'm probably gonna be happy with the Infinity. If the HPA improves on that amp stage, have a dedicated 3.5mm and that analog volume control it sure is a sweet deal though.

Agreed, it does kind of stink for those who already received an LPS. But at least you have the LPS powering the DAC which is going to show better results than running an LPS for the amp and an SMPS for the DAC; the signal won't be degraded as early thus reducing the improvement of the LPS on the amp.

I've heard the early Xfi running on an LPS and it sounded very nice. The Infinity should improve upon that and really deliver something special.
