My wife uses the office as well, so should I go for the A700s?  Is the leakage really noticeable?  Do the A700s get really hot?

Also, who decided on purple/gold for the AD700s.  Sheesh.

Oh!  I should note, my other headphones currently are a pair of Sennheiser HD212pro and Shure SE310.

In case the 700 line won't really gain me much.  If so, let me know!

AD700s leak like crazy, not for the office at all.

AD700 is definitly not the headphone for you... it was like people in the radius of 3 - 5m can hear clearly of the headphone leakage. ATH-A700 is my choice between these two :)

A700's don't get real hot, but extended wearing will make your ears warm, like almost any headphone.  They're easily the most comfortable headphones I have now, however, so as long as you don't live in a desert or something, you should be fine.

And what's wrong with purple and gold?  Oh wait...I'm biased because those were my university's colors.  Nevermind.

I hated AD700 for its color until I bought it and saw it in person.

Then I realized one thing about Audio Technica: They don't make ugly headphones! EVER!

I have the hd212 and the a700 and can make a quick comparison/impression , the hd212 has more bass but otherwise sounds just like the a700 , the a700 is easily driven from any sound card or personal music player, just like the hd212.  The a700 is more comfortable as it clamps around the ear instead of on top of the ear like the hd212.  The a700 cups are large , almost five inches diameter , but the single cable termination in the left cup makes it more comfortable than the hd212's Y connection.

The A700's are my favorite and the first one I reach for when I use an unamped source.
