@gtb75  Hey how did you fit the th-x00 into the geekria case? Did you have to take out the stuffing/foam that was in there? The headphones doesn't fit within the spacing inside the foam.

I didn't have to remove any foam. I just shrink the headband all the way down and put the headphones in with the slimmer portion of the ear pad in the foam insert.

I wanted to know what peoples thoughts on the TH-X00 vs Alpha Prime. I'm sure the Primes will have more sound stage. How does the sub bass compare between the two? I'm currently getting my alpha dogs upgraded to Primes before he puts to rest of upgrading mad dogs/alpha dogs completely.

Just got Fostex th600 and thx00 Purple Hearts. So far I like soundstage and airiness of th600 better, however to me thx00 PH has better low end. Will have to spend more time with both of them to see which one to keep.

From the smaller opening pads THX00, to TH-610, Denon AHD5000/7000 and last TH-600/900 (pads) the sound changes very much. The bigger the opening the more "open and free" the mid range and the treble sounds to me. Perhaps with some addition to the treble, where the amplification seems to have a great influence too on the perceived harshness of the treble. Also bass level is less high with the larger openings in the mid bass range, which to me sounds more neutral and good. In a way the original THX00 pads sound muffled to me.
I tried a Nuforce HA-200 which I liked, strong bass with clean mids and warmth (ie, not harsh) and a lot of detail too. Now I am waiting for the TEAC HA501 to arrive!

I'm driving my cans with Schiit Modi Multibit and Magni 2 uber and they don't sound harsh to me either.

Recomendations on pads with bigger opening  for the THX00 ?
