Hi there,
from your experience, what is a good travel case for these. One which is as compact as possible?
If to shorten the cable for mobile use, what 3,5mm audio jack (or 2,5 mm for balanced) would be best?
Regards

For mobile usage, 2.5mm balanced with a ultrashort 3.5mm adapter would be ideal for both balanced and unbalanced DAPs etc.Hi there,

I have 130cm original Fostex unbalanced cable(shortened) terminated with eidolic connector , a balanced 2.5mm 120cm 7N occ pure copper cable and another balanced 2.5mm 130cm balanced silver & gold hybrid cable.. Technically, silver&gold hybrid cable is better than all.

Thanks, it is a good idea to go for 2.5 balanced with 3.5mm adapter.
Of these three cables you mentioned, could you describe sound signature of each? Where to look for a pure copper and hybrid cable?

I am happy with the 2.5mm connection and have not lost any connection till now for about 2 years. 3.5mm ultrashort adapter and 2.5mm female to 4.4mm male ultrashort adapters are the most common ones I generally use.
If you have a good ultrashort high quality 3.5mm unbalanced adapter, there is no need to buy an unbalanced 3.5mm audio cable. Always prefer balanced cables for your DAPs, DACs etc(either 4.4mm or 2.5mm for AKs)
Note: I have shared the pictures of the cables at https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fos...cussion-thread.595683/page-1109#post-14989050. The silver-plated copper cable is much better than the pure copper balanced and Fostex stock cables in terms of transparency, clarity and details with more controlled bass(some may not like it). Furutech connectors for Fostex are great but cheaper connectors fits best. Both of them are much better than the sennheiser connectors.
The pure copper litz cables are great if you are interested in especially bass slam instead of a techniqually balanced presentation between frequencies. It is good for fun listening and you enjoy it. But silver-plated copper cable do it technically right and better than the stock and pure copper ones without being brighter than before.

Thanks a lot. I’m more into transparency, so will look into hybrid in near future. Did you make it by yourself?and what high quality 2.5mm balanced to 3.5 mm unbalanced adapter do you have in mind?

I have been using a custom made ultrashort adapter that I bought from my local dealer. https://doublehelixcables.com/product/eidolic-2-5mm-trrs-3-5mm-trs-adapter/ and http://www.norneaudio.com/litzheim/...d-kern-a-k-adapter-direct-soldered-conversion are some examples to 2.5mm trrs to 3.5mm ultrashort adapters. The gold silver cable that I ordered to be made with Furutech FT-2PS-F connectors is https://www.instagram.com/p/BFuILb_rCes/

Hi All, i'm going to buy a TH-900 Mk2 modded by Spirit Audio in the near future, right now i've got a TH-600, a FiiO Q5 and just bought an HP-A4BL.
Can i have some advice for a better match of DAC/Amp in this price range or more?
Best regards
