Will the cables change the sound completely? Is it worth the increased price? So if I'm understanding this correctly: the MKII headphones themselves are exactly the same as the MKI?
The cables will be detachable so you can remove them and change them to other cables such as balanced ones if you wish, without having to mod it yourself like you would have to do with the MK1. They default detachable cable is the same type of copper cable as normal, just detachable, and can terminate to 4-Pin XLR or you can opt to balance these things. There's not much of a price difference in the two models now, like $200, and driver-wise they're the same - if you want to mod it or have detachable cables or have the MK1 then no use for the second model. For a new buyer if you can get it for like $150-200 over retail go for the MK2 to save time on your end, unless you enjoy modding or can get a good deal on the original
