This afternoon I'm posted up in the airport to catch a flight home to spend a few days hangin' out back in SoCal. Right now I've got the 64Audio A18t running off my Cayin N8ii for music duties while I wait.

At the top of the queue I just started is an album from 2010 by The Tea Club entitled Rabbit. This is just a solid neo prog release that features some of my favorite vocals in the genre. Patrick and Dan McGowan make for a great tandem at the front providing a kind of emotive, but haunting sound to their vocal and guitar mix. Dan Monda is an underrated drummer who knows his role in driving the tunes, but can really lay it down when called for. This album is always a good pick! 🤘😎

P.S. Schiphol, the airport I'm at in Amsterdam, is one of the best airports to fly to/from. The Dutch know how to run a tight ship and things here always go smoothly for me despite always being very busy. Props to The Netherlands for cracking the airport management code at which so many others seem to fail miserably. 👍😎

Television - Marquee Moon: Surprised not to see this mentioned before. A Classic of the Post Punk Era. Smart NYC garage band with intricate double lead guitars and some lyrics to match. Not a bad cut to be found. HE-6 SE.

Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight: Great hook laden rock influenced by the 60's played by guys with a 1980 edge with off kilter lyrics - Influenced a pile of mid 80's acts like REM. This is their best recording. HE-500.

Chord Mojo OG > Focal Stellia

Freshly after the release - I have been thinking about listening to Rage Against the Machine but instead I've found this one on Bandcamp:

Actually it reminds me of Rage Against the Machine mixed-up with Clawfinger first album and a bit of H-Blockx.

Maybe not the best match for this type of music, but Mojo lacks of details comparing to Mojo 2 or bigger brothers like TT2 isn't a problem here. Maybe the sound is not as sharp as it should be, but Stellias dynamics and speed makes it up. Maybe Mojo wasn't designed for critical listening, but I know three things:

  1. its charm or magic still works on me after all those years,
  2. its scales well with different headphones while my favourite ones in terms of synergy are still AQ NOs and NHs
  3. despite owning Mojo 2, Mojo OG is still great dac and I'm happy I've purchased it back in day

Late evening chill session with a bit of electronic music. Great soundscapes and melodic tunes :)

Changed the setup at my PC, as I want to try using IEM's on a daily basis for a while before 8hopfully) finally investing in some better ones.
