For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Same here, but all of the music variety has coerced me into trying a lot of new music. My Apple Music library has increased dramatically from all of the exposure!
I love this so much.

I love this so much.

It's exactly why this is my favorite thread. I love all kinds of music and there's just too much out there for my ears to hunt down all the gems by themselves. On this thread I get so many other pairs of great ears to help in my search for great music. I found a ton of great albums and artists as a result of kickin' it on here. 🤘😎

Precisely, this afternoon and evening (here, in Canary islands) I'm listening to Karfagen and Antony Kalugin (I purchased all his albums after listening to "Messages from Afar - Second Nature" in this thread)... And was love at first hear :relaxed:

I must say this is my faovorite thread over at head-fi, I appreciate all the sharing of everybody in here. The great knowledge some of you share about the music is impressive and interesting to read. Most of us are here for the music experience, not all about the gear even if that probably made us discover head-fi.

--------

Todays listening is with my Beyerdynamic T1 G2, back on stock pads. Tidal trough R8 II into Feliks Audio Echo.
Ingvild Koksvik is a Norwegian singer, writer and composer. I have met her a few times now, really interesting and nice person.
This album came after a long break from 2016, coming back strong proving she can still do it. Signing in Norwegian with a mesmerising voice, hard to translate the genre "sang viser" perhaps folk music is closest description.

Exactly, this site is fun but it’s easy to get lost in the gear, and forget what actually brought us here in the first place. The music. And here, no one really cares what you use, whether it is an IEM or headphone... Hell ive even posted that I’m just using speakers!

y’all have killer taste, everyone reading this!

Keeping it relevant - currently jamming on this.

Posij & Former - Sun Tracker

a collab album between Posij & Former, exploring the darker side of the dancefloor with this extremely atmospheric breaks/dnb/bass project released on Vision recordings.

One of my first live double album sets, and still one of my favorites. The harmonizing vocals, guitars, and feeling between the band and the audience at the time will never be duplicated. This was in the middle of the Vietnam War, civil rights riots in US cities, and the young generation ( now in their 60’s and 70’s like me) were eager for the musical expression of the reality of what was happening. These guys did it perfectly!

Ramonpang - Nature System

Keeping up with the weird dance music, but moving from dark and brooding to fun and playful IDM. My good friend Ramonpang kills it every time, he has a new album coming out in April that is VERY GOOD. Highly recommend checking this out, it has a very fitting name as well!

First listen was more recent, I’m relatively new listening to King Crimson.
Nah. I played KC (Court of, Larks, SSB) for you in 1616 '76-'77 and in Tyngsboro in '88. Don't forget the Concert in '18 was it?

Nice LP, but a few classics missing: Wooden Ships, Almost Cut My Hair, Ohio - all of them still raise the hair on my neck.

Wow! Her voice definitely has a certain hypnotic quality to it. I've gotta track down her work and explore when I'm on one of my specialist vocal sets later. Thanks for the rec!

Keeping things topical, I decided to throw on my trusty Hifiman HE560 V1s while we're parked so the drivers can take a break. I'm running them off the modded Schiit Lyr (back to 70s Amperex Orange Globe ECC88s) with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding the optical out from a Wiim Mini. The HE560s really hold up very well for a headphone that's almost a decade old and they remain one of my favorite Hifimen (and I have a lot 😂).

For music, I'm picking up where I left off in my exploration of Malted Milk's discography with their 2021 album, Rising High. So their albums are done in a range of styles, giving each record a sort of musical theme. Most of them are based on styles that are throwbacks to the 70s and this one's no exception. It basically sounds like a mid-70s R&B album with 21st century production and recording quality. Definitely a cool album to sit back and groove to with the bass guitar and deep bass drum hits workin' overtime to hold down the rhythm section. 😎

Yes I had heard KC back in the day but it was one and done. After seeing them in concert in 2018 is when I actually got their CD’s and got into their music. It’s very different and enjoyable so thanks for the intro!

Posted up on my bunk having a late night listening sesh. This time I've got the Hifiman Edition XS running off my modded Schiit Lyr (back to the Amperex-Tektronix ECC88S) with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding the optical out from a Wiim Mini. The XS are such a super enjoyable pair of headphones. They just make music fun to listen to.

At the top of my queue is a 2017 compilation track album from Scale the Summit called Digital Collection. Despite having the least creative title in the history of albums, it's packed with musical creativity and solid tracks galore. STS have an instrumental sound that comes off as something like post-hardcore with heavy prog influences. I find the transitioning between seemingly incongruous styles in a musically coherent way to be quite entertaining to listen to. As a musician who's always looking for new styles to incorporate and inspiration for techniques to blend them, material like this is both interesting and useful. I highly rec this album and anything else by this band. 🤘😎
