I'd almost forgotten how wonderful these phones sound - been playing the title track on both the HD650 and the SR325x: The stage is certainly inside my head as opposed to slightly outside of my head with the Grados. The tone and timbre is where it's at though and both headphones do a damn fine job, everything sounds natural and exactly how it should, though the Grados have more more sub-bass and a little sparkle on top that the Senns are missing. However, listening to the guitar solo from the title track and I swear the guitar is sobbing, they capture the extreme emotion of this song like no other.

this is a new release from Octave Records (Paul McGowan -PS Audio). I'm not familiar with Carmen Sandim, but wanted to hear what a top of the line recording/mix sounded like on my rig. I wasn't disappointed. Oh my gosh! What a difference a properly recorded album sounds like. Her all original tracks are also very good in and of themselves! I'm looking forward to trying more Octave Records in the future!
