For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

But even greater joy!!! :)

Did you mean 313 + 007mk2 for $2k?
Yes, I am curious.

I am saving for the new estat amp :)

Enjoy!

Cheers!
Yep, it was 2k for both, and I could most likely get a decent price reduction, as he haven't been able to sell it for more than 6 months.

And I'm not buying it either.
Fantastic midrange, vocals stod out very clear and sounded great, and the treble was fine as well.
But the bass 😟 Too much mid/upper bass and it sounded kinda sloppy and not super detailed.
Fine pair of cans, and a great guy, and I really hope he finds another buyer.

Yup. If you want to maximize every stage, you will probably not find that in any electrostatic compared to planar and DD.

But, man, that clarity, details, and holographic sound are from another planet...I don't even want the bass to be big and forward...
I am completely nuts about electrostats :)

At least you have tried...Immanis/Magna is the next step.

Cheers!

A few moments later...
EDIT: I checked the review of SR-007mk2. It seems that you picked the model with the least electrostatic character. :)
Stax made something different here, more to mimic planar or DD by adding bass.
At the same time probably losing values that make them so different.
I am avoiding these, too...these are "not" electrostatic headphones. :)

Qobuz > roon > SMSL SU9 > Violectric V222 > Sennheiser HD800S :L3000:

The Corrupted Lullaby (2018) by Seventh Dimension - A Swedish prog-metal (melodic too) band I found on roon radio using Teramaze as a seed. This, their third album (of four), is a 2hr 7min epic of a concept album and as a nice touch, the full story is laid out on their website, broken up in to a chapter for each song on the album. There's a lot of Dream Theater, Symphony X and Opeth in their music and if you're going to be influenced by prog-metal bands those three are a pretty good choice. The HD800S are doing a great job of painting the music onto the soundstage, lots of subtle details to be found like very quiet keyboard fills, tight vocal harmonies and very effective double tracking - this is a very well put together recording.

An evening of classic rock with the Beyerdynamic DT-880 600ohm tonight. Every snare hit and cymbal crash is articulated with delicious precision...
