For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Had to do some pretty intensive subwoofer testing this morning at work, so my ears are a bit banged up 🫣
Nevertheless, this is still great music and a fantastic album, to further kick-start the day!

My Woman (2016), Angel Olsen

Freshly home from seeing her perform a solo set tonight. Reminded me of just how good she is without all the unnecessary instrumentation and production that characterize her more recent albums. Listening to this album from before over-production started burying her incredible voice.
Thanks for the reco. Enjoyed that album!

From there, I went on to Sharon van Etten's 'Are we there' album.

Just to make sure, you know that Angel Olsen and Sharon van Etten have an amazing duet together, right? “Like I Used To”

Ha ha! No clue! And enjoyed that single now, searched if there is an album but alas no. Someone should make Olsen do a melodic metal album vocals - or has she already done that too?!!

In the search for the album, I stumbled on a joint interview of em. Will read that now: https://www.thefader.com/2021/06/09...g-paths-writing-pop-and-making-like-i-used-to

yesterday I was lamenting missing my angsty teen years, today THE band from that era announced a 20 year anniversary tour for this album… had to give it a spin.

Tidal > E70V > A90D > FATFreq Scarlet Mini (with Final Type E tips)
Just got these and all i can say so far is that the bass is indeed putting on a really impressive show.

M-Scaler > TT2 > Envy Performance Edition > Focal Stellias

The original unmixed master recordings from Linkin Park's debut album that differ from the final version. Slam and dynamics provided by Envy and close cans like Stellias are great selection for this Linking Park album. It sounds raw and that is the beauty of it for me. I need to listen to it on Rockna WaveLight with NOS setting eventually.

I have been contemplating using Audeze MM-500 instead but they add too much colour IMHO while they are so much fun, but than again the most important value of this recording is the raw sound and some sharp edges, loosing those due to headphone tuning would be a mistake.
