How is the DEW4X? Just another dongle, or does it set itself apart in any way?

Quite decent Cirrus Logic dongle, better than early Cirrus dongles from a year back. Wish it had display, less accidents about the volume.

Still prefer Ru7 or FC6 as dongle, but I keep them at home.

Ordered the FC6, but HiFiGo extended the delivery date with more than a month after I placed the order, so cancelled it again.
The search continues for a good solution for my office desk setup

Thanks, sounds like it's not worth upgrading to over my Dawn Pro.
Ordered the FC6, but HiFiGo extended the delivery date with more than a month after I placed the order, so cancelled it again.
The search continues for a good solution for my office desk setup

Dawn Pro is more or less the same as the DEW4X, if you want a good upgrade its either something like FC6, RU7 or iBasso DC-Elite.
I would maybe just get a good and cheap DAC/AMP instead for desk solution.

And talking about upgrading, ordered something new for my desktop. Love R2R and been missing it from a older setup I had.

+1 on the RU7, one of the easiest to use audio devices I have owned. Not sure what you are looking for in an upgrade but I upgraded from the Q5K and almost never look back.

Outside the versatility I never understood the Q5K hype, sold mine fast. But the RU7 is an awesome one, actually preffered it more than the Cayin N7

Agreed, I keep it around until I upgrade to something bigger just cause it is nice to have Bluetooth on occasion… really like the look of that new Questyle CMA18, waiting for that to go down in price a bit tho.

Not sure what you are looking for in an upgrade...

Honestly, neither am I, and that should probably be the first thing I try to figure out
Don't need the mobility, so I should find a nice all-in-one or small stack, but there is also just something silly cool about the portable devices.
Anyway, I've derailed the thread enough for now, enjoy you evening/day all

Not as well known as Insomnium, Wintersun or other famous Finnish metal bands, but if any of those tickle your ears you should definitely check out Vorna! These Finns just know how to beautifully balance melancholy with aggression.
