Thanks. Will have to wait a couple of weeks for the Utopia to reach me. In the meantime I'm busy researching amps! 👍
CFA3, thank me later.

did you experience any audio lag with the unit atom HE when playing videos? say YouTube or Netflix

When using AirPlay, yes, but that’s been the case with all of my existing setups when it came to using AirPlay and watching YouTube.

Also I’m referring to a pause when stopping or starting audio, not a sync issue.

It’s fine when I use an optical connection direct to the Naim.

The utopia is very revealing of the source and tuned slightly warm. Synergy matters. But it really comes down to personal preference as to how it sounds. Utopia isn’t hard to drive so I’m going out on a limb and say it’s more about the tuning synergy. Any desktop amp will have enough oomph.

I love how it sounds out of a neutral source but ymmv

Thank you, I am considering to use USB C to optical with MBP Pro. Am hoping no audio lag but best if AirPlay works without noticeable latency

Yep this is where I'm at. I've had a couple of THX AAA amps but I'm not sure if I'd prefer a slightly warmer (musical?) tone. I don't want to lose any of the Utopia's benefits. I do feel that the amps I've had are too clinical? I also can't go over £1500GBP so this rules out a lot of the high end amps. Currently looking at Violectric V222 or the Naim Uniti Atom headphone edition. I currently have the Fiio R7 which replaced a SMSL SU9/SH9 stack. I'm also in the UK so that presents some issues with amp availability.

Well, I bit and ordered the 22 Utopia from A2A. Be rude not to at £2049GBP. After shipping and VAT duty I still get them around £2200GBP cheaper! I’ll be putting my Stellia up for sale. I can now go open back due to change of room. My missus could still hear the Stellia across the room. So she says. 🤔
i ordered from A2A during the big sale too! collected it today and really happy enjoying utopia 2022 now! the stock cable looks quite well constructed and much better than the 6.3mm terminated one with utopia OG. :relaxed:

doesn't sound very different from OG in the first few mins till now. the carbon fiber yoke looks and feels superb though!

Was A2A happy to send overseas?

Second hand sales are already getting too good to pass up in Australia, just got a pair purchased in May at full price for $2800 AUD. Can't wait to break these in this weekend with a glass or two.

This cable is horrible! Does anyone have a recommendation of a relatively budget silver cable option?

Edit: Might get my first Norne cable to compliment these.

Magnificent. The Utopia 2022 is amazing with Hans Zimmer.

The Utopia benefits from being driven properly. Adding the Cayin C9 added that extra dynamic punchiness.

A portable set-up doesn't get much better than this. Waiting for the Norne Audio balanced Vykari cable...

There's a lovely rich warmth. An intimate soundstage, as if you're sitting in front of a two channel setup in an acoustic room. More musical than the original Utopia. Less bright in those mids but the treble extension is still there.

2Go/Hugo2 with slight cross-feed to the Cayin C9 in Class A / Tube mode seems to be my current preference.

Very happy here. I think Utopia knocked the LCD-5 off my 'to go to' perch.
