Fed Ex delivered my Elears this morning....too bad I'm at work. I think I must be coming down with something, cough, cough.

I had to wait a whole day to get my baby too. EDIT: Actually I think I took a late lunch and ran home to unpack them.

I wasn't going to go, but then last night looked at the lineup for RMAF and CanJam, went to bed, then decided this morning I was going! Can't wait to hear the Elear, Clear, utopia and so many other headphones! Friday can't come soon enough!

The Elear is not the first to be affected by low prices, HE400i, HE560, LCD-2 and many others have had 1/2 price sales with some staying at the 1/2 price as the normal price.

That deal on Elear is pretty crazy because of how good they are even for a grand but it's the Utopia price that completely blew my mind - I know the discount for both of them is pretty much exactly the same percentage wise but getting 4k headphones for 2.5 is INSANE. I expected the Elear to go down because of the new Clear but I never thought the latter would happen for years to come.

and/or watch Jude's latest episode of head-fi TV, he talks about it there - it's a new pair of headphones based off of the Elear armature but no one (except Jude and few other people I guess) know what they actually sound like yet as Focal have no given reviewers permission to talk about them yet.

The half off ones are either used but in very good condition, or open box demos in very good condition. They're NOT what you would call new. If they were selling new ones at $500 this close to the $700 sale, I'd agree with you. But these are used.

Indeed tempting...my only concern is the all sales final statement....given that some people have ones that bottom out easily (mine don't luckily), I'd hate to be stuck with a pair of headphones that I don't 100% enjoy.
