How's the comfort/clampforce of the Elear? I personally like a strong clamp with my headphones and was wondering if these'd be good for me.

Like if I were to bop my head to music, or look up/down & side/side would they move? (Average-Slightly smaller than average head)

I would say the grip is firm without much pressure and no they won't move.

Agreed. I find they have a good grip but not too tight.
I'm stuck deciding if I want the Elear or Beyerdynamic T1.2, I have the 900 Pro X and it does metal music so well that I don't need an immediate upgrade, but if I were to, it'd be between these two.

I've heard the T1 has little clamp which worries me but also the Elear QC/headband issues worry me as well. If anyone has both an Elear and T1 to compare that'd be great

Have heard neither the T1.2 nor the 900 Pro X, but have owned several Beyerdynamic products in the past (e.g., DT770/600, DT880/250&600 (earlier and later versions), DT990/600, DT-1350, T1.1). My guess is--and I may stand to be corrected, if necessary--that the Elear will deliver more punch and slam.

[Side Note: My favorite Beyerdaynamics of all time were the 2003 DT880 Pro version. The succeeding Premium DT line, launched in 2005 and ushering in the T1 flagship offering represented, to me, a departure from the Beyer "house sound" that I had before found so endearing.]

The DT900 is quite different from the older offerings. I have the Elear and DT 700 pro x and like both a lot. Have had T1.2 in the past and from memory my bet is on the Elear.
I think I would prefer the DT900 (except for comfort for big heads) over the T1.2 as well. Not that the T1.2 was/is any bad but the other 2 are just thát good.

Yea, I had the 1990 but I prefer the 900 Pro X myself. I love the Pro X alot but always wondered about the Focals. Obviously everyone hears audio differently but to me, the 900 Pro X ticks all my boxes, but as yall know, there's always something "more"

No QC with any Focal product, only bit of headband creaking while you're moving it, the build is very solid. No experience with the T1 but the Focal signature is definitely recommended as it feels like floor standing speakers and not a headphone.

Had mine on for two hours. No discomfort. Played Lizard by King Crimson. Sounded amazing.

Planning for the 900 Pro X too the 600Ohms version to use with my DV amp, will be thankful if you can give your impression about it.

Is this still a good buy this 2022? My loca distro is offering an open box but brand new unit for $400 and 1 year warranty.

I would say: Yes.
At that $400 it's a pretty good contender. On a personal basis I ended up selling my Clear OG cause I liked the Elear (with Elex pads) as much.
