I’m new to the forum, and fairly new to good wired headphones. In need for some advice.
I drive my Focal Elears with a Dragonfly Cobalt connected to my iPhone. A good portable solution, but I’m considering getting a desktop headphone amp/Dac for my stereo setup. Been looking at the Schiit Magni 3+. And maybe the Schiit Modi Dac, or perhaps using the DF Cobalt as Dac at first. Will this be a good combination?
I’m looking for a better sound than from my Cobalt (even though I’m pleased with it). Would like a little larger soundstage and maybe more crisp highs/mids. The Focals are warm and bassy enough for me. Would I get an increased IQ with the Schiit, or should I look at something more expensive?
I’m very interested to hear what you use, especially if you got the Elears. Would appreciate some recommendations for amp/Dac. My budget is up to $400. But of course I may save a little longer, if necessary.
