Yes was considering it, but a review stated it is a bit analytical for brighter headphones? What do you think?
The Clear Mg for the most part is a warm headphone and I find it benefits from brighter sources. The nice thing with the RME is it has a 5 band parametric eq. I have to eq my clear mg to enjoy as I find the treble to dark for me.

I think it depends on the perspective, for me "warmer" sounding DAC/AMP's have a "sound" where the ADI-2 Pro FS falls into the transparent category. I have no trouble using the RME with brighter Beyerdynamic's for example, but I usually EQ them as I find that bright headphones alter the timber of acoustic instruments too much for my liking.

Thank you - have ordered that 4.4 adapter.

now just need to decide between Diablo and iDSD Neo to drive Focal Clear MG. I cannot find any comparison posts on them. Diablo sounds incredible as had on loan but couldn’t buy at the time. A remote control is very convenient which iDSD Neo has especially as i will connect to a TV optical out.

most important is which is best for sound quality in driving my Focal Clear MG via 4.4headphone output.

Get a DAC/AMP. i did have the DIABLO which sounds massively better then the Apple dongle

I can only agree here, the difference is rather massive :L3000:

It's not even about our own product, but rather how well Focals scale with amps and DACs.

Mg's sensitivity is exemplary, and if it makes sense, investment in a good DAC first would yield with much better results then with a "great" amp.

RME and Soekris all in one solutions come to my mind, but surely, there are others.
