I too have the 99 classics and the clear. The only thing I find with the classics is sometimes the bass can sound sloppy or bleed into the midrange a little. The clears only gave out the exact bass that was from the recording.

My impression of those two headphones is similar. The Clear is quite neutral and clear, with an energetic but not boomy or bloated bass. To complement the Clear, you need something which deviates significantly from neutrality, and need to be careful to choose a deviation which isn't unpleasant.

I have and lcd x while not super far from my clear I reach for it when I want something with less treble. They are both great cans I have one more can on my list and it is either the auteur or the empyrean.

Hey guys, i'd like to know your opinion on the Focal Clear Professional vs the regular Clear.
Unfortunately at the store i went to (studio supplier) they only had the Pros on show, i didnt have a proper source so i didnt get to listen to them this time but i'll go again sometime and try it with music.
Do you know how to the two compare ?

side note: the pads and comfort are unbelievable !!! super soft comfortable perforated pads. love the colour contrast also.

Other than color and accessories in the packaging they are EXACTLY the same headphone.

even when it comes to sound? because the store i went to is selling it for a cheaper 1,400$ instead of the 1,800$ MSRP.
the regular focal clear sells at 1,800$ msrp also.

this usually means Focal might be making a new headphone that will sit between the Clear and Utopia. just a feeling.

Yes, even when it comes to sound. The only difference is the accessories. The Clear comes with a case and 3 cable choices. The Clear Pro comes with a single cord spring style and an additional set of pads and color difference but otherwise exactly the same

Connection wise, Am not sure it's possible to go balanced with the Clear professional

clear pro is coming this week, will do some comparisons with utopia. Really wish they can offer an extra XLR cable even the pads are sexy.

I’m very surprised the ‘pro’ Clear doesn’t come with balanced cables. Don’t they use balanced connections in the studio? Maybe not.

I have no idea, They just offer a very long extension coiled single end cable.
