Focal Clear headphones

Can anyone comment on whether if this is a comfortable squeeze for storing the headphones?

I’ve found a much more compact case vs the included one for travel but there is a bit of squeeze at the headband.

Has anyone had any problems with squeezing the headband? Because I’ve ever only read about the effects of stretching, not squeezing. Thank you.

Why not just stick with the purpose made case? I'd feel bad about putting that kind of stress on the headband.

Has anyone else dealt with Focal's North American customer support? I've been trying to get an RMA done and have had a hard time getting responses and information despite sending my original request on the 5th of November.

You shouldn’t need to deal with them. Your dealer should be taking care of that for you. Did you buy them from an authorized dealer? If you did it takes about 10 minutes for your dealer to get it all taken care of. We dealers can’t give you our access but we can very easy and quickly take care of it for you

Thanks for the advice, this was my first time buying through a dealer instead of direct from the manufacturer :)

The dealer makes money and a portion of that money is for just this exact circumstance. To take care of his customers.

I have a case like that too. Mine is from Beyerdynamic. I have transported my Clear dozens of times like that - no problem so far.

Because it's YUGE!

It’s likely to increase the clamp a bit if you keep it like that over time. I doubt it’ll actually damage the headphones, but if you store it like that a lot, idk..

you think so? I can’t imagine how it could be any smaller without putting stress on the headphones.
Now something like the Audeze cases are huge (and a bit unnecessarily so) but the Clear’s case is barely bigger than the headphones themselves

I don't believe it is putting stress on the headphones. If the headband is made to flex one way, it can also flex the other way. I would not go as far as to store them for extended periods like that, but transporting them from A to B I have absolutely no problem with.

P.S. The Audeze Cases I find flat out ridiculous. Unless you want to take your headphones into a war zone and you have enough storage space in your Humvee, what's the point for a case like that?

Hey all, looking to upgrade to a nice tube amp to use with my focal clear. My source is a Mytek Brooklyn DAC+.

Looking to spend around 2000 - 2500...but there is no "hard" budget if its the right amp. Right now I'm considering the Feliks Audio Euforia and the Woo Audio WA22.

Does anyone have any experience with these amps paired with a Clear? Are there any other amps in this price range I should be considering? Thanks for any advice!

I just got my Focal Utopia dead driver repaired in warranty. My dealer took care of me and I had my unit back in a week with new matched set of drivers inside.

Very happy with the service. My Utopias were given new life.

I am using with the WA22 and WA5, WA22 is very good but not great. Look for a used WA5, you won’t regret it. WA22 really needs to be run with a balanced source to sound its best, and stock tubes need to be upgraded.
