Without the balanced cable, it would be a definite pass for me. Luckily I already own the Clear but if I had to buy the Pro right now with no balanced cable?....no sale.

balanced cable arent expensive though, you can easily find non-focal branded ones for cheaper on amazon.

Not gonna buy some cheap cable if I keep this baby :) but yeah, I think the original price is a little ridiculous, but with 999, I think the price is fair plus around 300 will have a decent set of cable.

i dont spend more than 60ish $ for cables, unless its like a super unique termination thats harder to come by or unique type of cable, eg: (Stax cables, 4 pin xlr, 3 pin xlr, TH900 cable or Blue headphone extended 3.5 cable.)

but for a basic 3.5 to 3.5/6.35 or 2.5 to 3.5/6.35 i dont hear a difference at all in quality compared to a 20$ amazon cable or OEM cable from the headphone box.

Tell me how you came to that $60ish number. A good balanced connector is at least 25% of that number. Connector quality is pretty important in a cable

Get with it guys it’s called the Clear Pro because it is intended for studio use as a single ended headphone because that’s what they use.
Lol. Get with it guys? Sorry Alan I (we) didn’t read up on this pro model thoroughly enough to see that’s only what it’s used for. Sorry if I (we) ruffled your feathers. Peace!

:) it wasn’t Alan it was me. No ruffled feathers here thx for your concern. I was trying to point out that complaining a pro device doesn’t have consumer connections is kinda silly don’t you think? It wasn’t intended for consumer use is my point.

When The Elears came out many stores were promoting them as.. phenomenal headphones. after they were out awhile, their flaws were discussed a lot. Making them not quite as good as originally thought.
My question is. Are the Clears, proving to be as good as originally discussed?

Excellent question! My comment is weighted from a “Dealer” perspective and specifically my dealer facility. The initial Elear failure issue was unfortunately pretty high. The Utopia also had failures but to a much lower degree. If our sales of the Clear are a fair sample rate of the failures, the rate would be 00.888%

I think @Luke Thomas meant ‘sound flaws’ (perceived midrange dip) rather than failure rate. So does the Clear have any ‘flaws’ that were masked over by the hype and that have been exposed since the hype died down. If the hype has indeed died down...
