I was worried about the red, because it looks a little pink in a lot of their promo material. I've been burned by a "red" headband wrap before. It wouldn't have been so bad except I'd also swapped out for some red velour pads. It doesn't match, but it's too comfy to change.

Paul, you must have been gone for a while. I’ve been letting people know for months now that there is no difference between them other than price, color and accessories. To help you further along not only have I spoken to the design team but I’ve also auditioned and measured them both and their statement is correct there is no difference other than the 3 things I just mentioned.

I asked the question on the Focal website, but it looks like I got that answer from a "HIGH END AUDIO IMPORTER/DISTRIBUTOR" in the US. I went Black/Red. If there's a conspiracy identified, later on...I'll always prefer the black over gray. The "Clear Professional" badging alone has to do something. Everybody knows that chrome engine parts and white lettered tires add more horsepower.

I'd agree 100%.I would think a coiled cable would be worse.

I am waiting for the first person who hears a difference between Clear Professional and Clear Vanilla. The Professional will probably sound more organic...

Hoping its OK to ask this question here. Where can I pick up the Clears at a good price that also have them in stock now? Canada doesn't have any for yet another month. I've been trying to get them since Christmas. PM me if you prefer. If anyone has some used ones for sale I'm game - CLEARS ONLY.
It's exactly the same headphone. (only the accessories change) This was said by a Community Manager of focal france on a French forum. Here's the link: http://www.tellementnomade.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=18510&start=135I am waiting for the first person who hears a difference between Clear Professional and Clear Vanilla. And the post in french (google trenslate is your friend): "Bonjour à tous,

YOU DON'T KNOW MY LIFE! Seriously, though, the headphones I mentioned that are wrapped in a pink headband with red earpads just so happen to be my work pair. Plus, if Focal wants me to spend $200 more on some cosmetic changes, I'm going to want to receive the color I want this time.

Well it looks like that's all sorted then, thanks, still like the red and black and coiled cable but if it's not shipping yet don't think I'll wait if no difference in sound signature,it's like a bit of an anticlimax now.I'll phone NAIM tomorrow just to clarify.Half the ppl in Ere don't even own any of these products, you know who you are and so do we
Naim don't represent the Focal High End headphone range in the UK anymore, we do. More so we have been distributing Focal's professional products for many years. Therefore we have both Clear Professional and Clear in stock. There is no difference apart from the colour and accessories. If your preference is to purchase the professional version then you will have to buy from one of the appointed pro audio retailers, that is the case in the UK at this time. If you send me a PM I can let you know where. It all boils down to colour preference and whether you need a straight and/or balanced cable. The curly cable isn't going to stretch that far, it's intend for desk use.

Sorry for your loss Paul.
The Clear in either version is a pretty sweet headphone. Enjoy!
