Clear isn't between those two headphones, it's vastly superior. IMO of course Clear>>>Hd800s>LCD-2

You are right. The clear is superior than both HD800s and lcd2. When said in between, I was thinking HD800s too bright and clinical, the lcd2 too dark, and the clear great balance across the board

I think that way a said it sounded like
HD800 > Clear > lcd2

Oddly I have been sitting here this evening and was listening to my Utopia's ... but they were too 'front row' ... so changed to the Clear's ... they were much more relaxed but so detailed ! After about half an hour I was finding them not quite what I wanted so have moved onto Oppo PM-2's ... perfect ! Just the right warmth but detail and quality. It just shows that listening is so subjective even to each individual at different times and in different moods.

Without doubt the Clear and Utopia are better than the PM-2's ... but not tonight ....

Excellent, I thought that's what you meant but I just wanted to make a point. It seems like a lot of posters lately have been bringing up HD800s as if it's competitive with or at the same level as Clear and it just isn't.

Absolutely. There are some nights when nothing would sound good and others where everything does. I wish I knew how to make the "everything sounds good" mood happen.

Me too. I usually do all my listen at night time, but when I sometimes listen in the day (which isn't often at all) everything seems to sound better. Strange.

They just announced Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless at CES 2018! I am going to buy it, I've always wanted a true wireless audiophile headphone.

Yes but it's not a flagship phone, they need to compete with Focal and Sennheiser. If they can!
