What iem, for about 1k
For easiest listen, no peaks, no sibilance, no upper mids/low treble peak ect.
What is just an easy to listen iem, don't care about bass.
Just want no peaks, no shouting
1k USD is budget.
Not your mainstream recs:
An oldie, Shure se846, so long as you don‘t need upper treble air, above 10KHz.
Penon Volt

I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who really likes the Penta. If the Fibae 7 was available as a uni I'd probably have tried one by now.
The fibae 7 is available as a universal. Think most if not all of custom arts lineup is.

Agree on the Penta. Maybe the most boring IEM I've ever listened to. Went in very interested (size, shape, hybrid...), took them off within a minute

Not a big fan of the Rai Penta too but I can see why some people love it. FIBAE 7 & Andromeda 2020 are my preferred picks out of the lot.

I agree, that's the whole thing with the Penta, it's strength is in how boring it is. It's easily the most comfortable universal I've tried, build quality is off the charts, it's a real looker, and the sound is the dictionary definition of 'inoffensive' - exactly what the OP was asking for in this price bracket.

Boring, inoffensive - these traits get a really bad rap around here, but I challenge anyone who loves the super exciting, super detailed IEMs to sit with one in their ears all day. I know I couldn't. If Nio didn't exist I'd probably consider a Penta for the reasons listed above (even though Nio is far from boring).

Yea, fatigue-free listen to sum it up.

Which was actually the design goal of the Penta, if you go back and read up what Meze was going for. Definitely not for everyone, but if that's what you're after, it's one of a small handful of IEMs that actually deliver. That metal finish feels like silk.

My vote goes to the Andromeda 2020, it’s a lovely IEM - haven’t heard the fibae 7 myself though. Meze Rai Penta... mindnumbingly boring imo, I’d never recommend it - feels like an IEM with 0 personality of any kind

Definitely, honestly can't go wrong with Andromeda 2020 or FIBAE 7.

Managed to try Lime Ears' new hybrid flagship, Pneuma which boasts a driver configuration of 4BA + 1DD. Was expecting more but I must say it is quite a disappointment. Looking forward to see what others think. Bass is defined but lacks the impact, midrange is hollow sounding, treble is quite decent. Soundstage is pretty good. On a sidenote, the shells are really nice. All in all, I think there are better options elsewhere for the sound aspect and 1800 Euros is definitely not cheap for this sound quality.

These cans scale pretty well actually. With the BX2 Plus, it's noticeably wider and clearer. Have you tried to use any other amp apart from R8?
SP2000...either have ample power to drive. The R8 particularly with Turbo on High Gain it is very obvious how well these would scale with the power behind a desktop setup.

Agreed, R8 drives these amazingly well and sounds solid. But after adding the BX2-Plus to the chain, its a noticeable step-up, stage is wider and resolution increases but the amp doesn't color the sound in any way.
