Also,

Shell - anything from Noble Prestige
Faceplate - anything from Kumitate Labs
Logo - that winged girl from JH Audio
Cable - Leonidas II
Price - USD1k
Endorsed by - Taylor Swift

Might have gone a bit overboard.

Hey guys, I am just curious. If you were allowed to make your Dream IEM, how would you want it to sound like? To keep things simple, let’s consider just these 5 aspects. I am curious to see your picks. Let me go first:

Bass - Tia Fourte
Mids - Zeus-XIV
Treble - S-EM9 (from distant memory)
Tone - 64Audio A10
Soundstage - Tia Fourte

(Btw, I am leaving the LCD-i4 out for this exercise)
Can I ask why are you leaving the LCD-i4 out?

Bass - LCD-i4
Mids - U18t
Treble - KSE1200
Tone - Andromeda (I never bought it.. loved the tonality, but the bass-head in me bought a Vega)
Soundstage - LCD-i4

Wow. That’s a lot of VE8. I am curious more than ever now.
It sucks.

Because, with the EQ engaged through Reveal or Cipher Cable, i4 would nail all 5 aspects. That would make it unfair, as other IEMs might also improve with EQ. But then Audeze itself provides the EQ for free, so when I consider i4, I see it as i4+EQ.

But if I have to consider the non-EQd i4, just like you, I’d pick it for the bass and soundstage.

Funny, I first wrote this..

Bass - LCD-i4 (+Reveal)
Mids - LCD-i4 (+Reveal)
Treble - LCD-i4 (+Reveal)
Tone - LCD-i4 (+Reveal)
Soundstage - LCD-i4 (+Reveal)

..but like you I somehow decided to be fair and include only options without DSP.

Makes me want to kick myself for missing out on that $1k USD LCD-i4 B stock deal a few months ago.

Two identical DAPs so you don't have to go to the effort of unplugging your iems? That's rolling in style...

He has transcended the cable realm and is now trying to find the effects of cases on DAPs.

I know U18 didn't get a lot of mentions here, but I think with a slightly fuller midrange and a slightly toned down upper treble, it would fix the tonal/timbre issues and would easily qualify for a dream IEM. At least for me, it would.
