Yes, I love that sort of thing! A lot of what I have been looking into recently has been focused on learning how music plays with emotions, how it can evoke emotions. A bit like Purcell using a "ground bass" in Dido's Lament (Dido & Aeneas) to create a sense of tragedy. I still know very little about it, but it is fascinating.
Oh dear, I think I need to do another PhD... :D

I got my MSc in biology (adaptation physiology, molecular biology) and my PhD in history and philosophy of science. These days I specialise only in history of science.

Oh yes, me too! We are just at a stage in our lives where we have to invest in our careers, but we do want to settle down as soon as we can and get ourselves a dog ...or two ...or three. :D

Ah, but then the question becomes, which colour?

We love Labs too and long-haired Goldens, I think those are universally loved. My wife has a real soft spot for the really big and hairy breeds (Newfoundland, Leonberger, etc) and I have that with Collies, although because of the gifs I have started to quite like Corgis too. :p

So true. :) As for color, I don't think I have preference, at least when it comes to labs. My wife's taste is on the other end. She prefers smaller dogs like Maltese.

@Wyville if you get a place with a garden , there is no better dog than a German Shepperd

all dogs rule but the GS is something else - i had two for 25 years and these are truly amazing creatures

but like i said , they need to have a garden to move and not feel confined inside an appartment

GS is actually my favorite. But because me and my wife live in an apartment, dogs like GS or labs are not ideal options for us. Hopefully in the future we will move to a place that would be ideal for active dogs.

I grew up with a GS (big house, big garden) when I was very young. Wonderful dog, which also used to watch over me
My dad trained him so well that the police visited our house one day to check if he wanted to sell the dog, but of course he didn't.
I think he would even have chosen the dog above my mother

Next Tuesday I have an audiologist appointment for a fresh set of ear impressions, which will be shipped to Warbler the same day.
Looking forward to being reunited with that ciem

Amazing. I wish I grew up with a dog.

Congrats on your soon-to-be-made IEM! What's the build time for the Prelude these days?

Thanks and yes, that's always an exciting perspective.

As I had the Prelude on a loan for a long time (returned it last Monday with the SE5U & Aether), I already know what to expect.
It was probably already obvious (from some earlier posts) how much I liked it

Amazing. I wish I grew up with a dog.

Thanks! I think it's 5-6 weeks normally, so I hope to have them before next Christmas :santa:

Nice :thumbsup:I'll probably get the chance to try the VE8 myself in another auditioning round.
Btw, I hope you'll have enough listening time that day, so you can get a good impression of their signatures.

I think it'd sound great with Christmas songs. So warm, and cozy.. :) If you're nice, you may even get it within 3-4 weeks. :D

are you thinking of selling any more ciems beside the 8.2 ?

i have 2 ciems and have problem dividing my time - although i mostly use zeus XR at home and take NT6 outside/at work - i can not imagine how you guys do it with 4 or 5 (or in @flinkenick case , with 32  )

I might also sell my AR6 and IT03 later on. But right now I already have a hard time letting go the H8.2 (I figured that one would bring me more budget than the other 2), as I also still do like that one :slight_frown:

Imo it's great to have multiple (c)iems with completely different signatures. Sometimes you can really be in the mood for a specific one.
Well, at least that's how it works for me

Yes, I certainly will try to take my time because I would like to hear the less expensive models as well as the VE5, VE6 and VE8.

I hope Nic's VE8 will fit you well!

I wasn't planning anything right now and this was actually just the guys from Vision Ears being absolutely amazing. I simply asked if they had demo models available for me to listen to here in London and they have gone out of their way to contact my audiologist and send her the demo models so I could try them and discuss the fit they use. I didn't ask them to do that, they just did. Amazing service!

Because they use closed mouth impressions and have a fractionally shorter stem, they might just work for me and I thought it was well worth a look, especially since I am very interested in the VE5. It is just something I wanted to explore before I bite the bullet and buy TOTL (C)IEMs (which will be after the whole Sweden or London business is cleared up).
