Are there any Odin owners who have bought the Mest MKII? I’m really amazed at the soundstage size, 360 degrees around in all directions. I commented earlier that it may be better in this regard than the Odin, so some other viewpoints would be nice whether to confirm or disagree. 🙏
I own both and currently trying to sell my MK2
In my opinion with my gear the soundstage on both are comparable however MK2 reaches to the back of my head. The Odin doesn’t do this but the Odin has better depth and height than MK2 but this is just what I hear.

(actually, after these last two purchases, I’m broke, so 7 it is)
That's probably the reason a lot of us pause for any amount of time. I'm tempted to tell interviews that the reason I'm looking for a job is to pay for my kilobuck iem hobby, but that's less convincing as liking to do R&D.

To add having owned the MEST OG: it has a differently shaped soundstage than the Odin and while it's certainly unique, I'll still prefer the Odin's presentation.

Agreed 100%

I’ve read somewhere that the MEST (mk1 I believe) had an impressive stage but it was lacking in terms of depth and realism in its imaging when compared to Odin?

Thanks for your reply. I’m going to have to do some more careful listening ...

Modest by the lofty standards of this thread but this is my humble family-- each represents an epitome of a different aspect of my tastes. Spaciousness and grandeur (IER Z1R), realism and intimacy (Elysium) and bombastic fun (Dorado 2020) all brought to life by the incomparable Shanling M8.

The Jolene really stalled my hopes of moving my Lolas quick and easy.

I tried suggesting that I get an exception for the MKII to the missus. It was refused in spectacular fashion.
[/QUOTE]

Since you having trouble moving your Lola, I'd be willing to trade it for your Odin, plus cash.

@SLC1966 Thanks for sharing your impression and thoughts on your collection Mark :) What a collection you've gathered. Having tried most IEMs at the store here, I think you can rest assured to have among in your possession the top of the top monitors to have been released currently.

Amazing write as always, I enjoy reading your posts.

There is one I'd add though if you're looking for a neutral and transparency specialist.. :imp:
You are welcome and thank you for the kind words.

Knowing you and always enjoying reading your impressions of audio items, you of course are referencing your neutral and transparent Warbler Prelude :) Yes I do need to try that one.

It's true, I once shipped him a surprise IEM to make it nine and he refused the delivery and it came back to me.
And I cannot remember if it was the Canary, Erlk LE, Khan, Grace, Eden, Eden SP, LX etc...... We have sold and purchased all of those plus others from each other back and forth numerous times. We could have just got a hotel room :)

No no. Not the Prelude. The Prelude is mid-centric like the Elysium. But with less bass and extended treble, and slightly more natural/organic tone. :) (I hope you can try one too someday)
I was referring to the Campfire C/2019 Q4. It shares similar design with the MW10, but without the hiss. Sound-wise, it has a flatter more neutral sound, well-balanced all-round, with very high transparency. I thought it might be a good addition if you're looking for a reference tuning.

Pure Love.
Eventually I will upgrade to M11P hoping to see that in 2 more years, skipping M10R for now. Have you history with L❤️

I have not visited DP in years.
