Fir Audio Thread - Discussion and Impressions

CODE 23 thick gauge solid core surrounded by 12 multi-sized core bundles is stuff but very malleable / "shape-able". The issue for many is the earhooks and weight – if you turned your head frequently, it loosens your IEM seal eventually popping them out. Personally it's been a non-issue, I use Crystals which has slightly tacky ear tips and shape the ear wires in a way to reduce the cable from loosening my IEM seal.

From what I read, CODE 24 is thinner gauge which should improve ergonomics.

Glad to help and have a safe, healthy Happy New Year!
Code 24 is a tad less stiff than Code 23, but still a stiff cable in the vein of 23. It can almost stand up on its own, but not quite 🤣

Do you have any issues with coiling some of the thicker cables/8W renditions into the travel cases? The Rn6 stock does leave a little room in the lid, but fills out the lower portion of the leather case pretty well without the IEM's clanging into each other/earhooks being smushed. (Are you running all of them between 4 & 5 feet?)
I keep mine like this, bottom compartment. It's a tight fit but it's snug and safe.

This is how I roll, so I gotta at least get em in the OG circle cases. (Green is dac and IC cables, lower tan is amp and power cables)

So, I got my replacement KR5 in hand today after the serial number mishap with the last pair. Absolutely delighted with FiRs customer service.

But something worth noting, it seems to me there is pretty wide potential unit variation per pair.

My last set I wondered frequently if I was really experiencing the kinetic bass. It was strong bass dont get me wrong, but nothing really "different".

This new pair the kinetic bass hits different. Hard. You actually feel it in a different way. I guess like I expected (but never really got) out of my first set. It is immediately noticeable.

Just my experience but may be worth noting. Very happy with the replacement set.
