According to their website, viper effects no longer exists because their contract is up.

If you have paid for the extra effects on the old viper, you can still get the old music app back by replacing the new app with the old one via a file browser.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, just buggy firmware. I have two 400GB cards. One contains bands with names beginning with A to K and the other L to Z. A quick look at the bands beginning with "A" showed some weren't in the correct position alphabetically.

Pretty basic stuff for a public release firmware! FiiO makes some really good sounding hardware at a competitive price. Their firmware? Not so much.

Besides new FiiO Music App, whats the difference between this firmware and 1.0.7JP firmware that i have like from months now? I mean is there is a legit need of this new firmware if I like current one, meaning JP version?

I’m loving the new firmware. My X7 II is a bit snappier now, and I can finally install Apple Music again (which had stopped working for me after I’d installed the JP firmware).

Also, I like the new Fiio music player interface a lot.

I can access my Plex Media Server with no issues. Everything plays fine.

Found it, they've moved it to the settings menu, so you have to go back three clicks to get to it from the main play screen.

In file browsing mode the artist aren't in strict alphabetical order. The bands ABBA and ABC are between Arcadia and America, at first glance.
