So I was able to multi tap the device name and says " you have uninstalled google play services".
Settings > About Phone> Device name where the X7ii name appears, if you multi tap it it will permanently uninstall .
I tried downloading google play apk but when opening it it just says " Unable to open google play or services".

thats why I tried wiping out the cache and even doing factory reset multiple times.

How can I reflash it?

Thanks
Not sure if it will work, but as a multiple device user here's a thought. Google adding Google play store to Amazon fire HD tablet. The fire does not have access to Google as it is an Amazon product, bit there are files that you can download and install that give you access to play store and Google services. They have to be done in a specific order,. It it works flawlessly on the fire, so perhaps it will also work on the x7-ii

Hi All!

I SERIOUSLY need everyone's help.

Unfortunately I tapped the Device name multiple times and uninstalled Google Services, I tried to reinstall it but it won't work.
I even tried resetting the factory setting and even wiped the cache of the X7ii and when I did, the Device name changed to X7 only not X7ii.

Question:
* How can I re-activate/ re-enable google play and services?
* How can I revert back the X7ii original settings?
* I tried doing a Local Upgrade but it wont let me as is says" cannot install OTA as I do have the latest version".

Everyone's help is appreciated.

Thanks in Advance
Dear friend,

Generally, you can try to do a factory restore and do a Manual update via update zip file update again for help:

X7MKII FW1.0.3: http://x7iipack.fiio.net/X7II-ota-1.0.3.zip

You would receive the message 'cannot install OTA as I do have the latest version' when choosing local upgrade not online upgrade right?

If so, you may try to burn the firmware for help: http://fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=41890&extra=

UPDATE: Problem resolved. The X7ii doesn't like playing with the USB Audio player Pro app. This was also an issue with the X5iii. I switched over to Tidal and it works fine.

Just picked one of these up. I'm trying to connect it to an external amplifier using the line out output with a 3.5mm to RCA adapter, but the sound is mangled (badly distorted and static-y). The cable and amp work fine. Are there any other settings I should adjust?

Yes, I already looked at the manual. It's not helpful. I also searched the thread for mentions of "line out," but didn't see anything relevant.

Thanks!

Dear friend,

Did you try another audio cable as well? Try to set the lineout to volume adjustable, and use a headphone for the lineout, would the issue remains same?

Best regards

I just had a weird issue with Fiio Music App. Turning the device on and Fiio Music showed nothing in the songs list. I tried clearing the application data but it did not work. I had to do a restart.
When will there be an update for Android for this music app?
Dear friend,

Can you read the music files from browse file? And have you scanned the media library already?

Best regards

Yes, I did.
I tried pressing the scan all but nothing happened. The app just froze. So with many attempts like clearing application data. I was not able to use fiio music. So i had to do a hard reset -> Problem solved. It happened only once till now.
I want to let you know that I sometimes encountered crashes in fiio music with the latest firmware.
It happened randomly during usage or start up so it's hard for me to report the bug because I was not able to reproduce them.

Dear friend,

Thanks for you feedback. As for the crash, you could send the folder internal_sd\FiiOMusic\crash and the related operation to support@fiio.net.

We would report to our engineers about that and have a check.

Sorry for bringing inconvenience to you.

Best regards

My review on X7mkii is live now!

I find it to be an amazing DAP, and I think it is one of the most fun DAPs out there!

Subjective comparison:

Hi all, I finally have my X7ii somewhat ready. I am now able to do some side-by-side comparisons. I will be writing this post as I listen. The IEM's will remain the constant, V-MODA Zn. I wear them cord down. I will play the same song on two different devices. My iPod Classic plays mp3 320Kbps files through a FiiO E12A, while my X7ii will be playing FLAC directly from the DAP. I understand this isn't the most even test, nor the most scientific. However, it's the best I can do while at work. Also, I will adjust the volume to my listening level and report for each device.

IPOM3wh.jpg

1. Opeth - Sorceress. This song is a good representation of what I like to listen to. The opening is a funky, jazzy tune morphing into a dual-guitar chug fest.

iPod - Volume 11 o'clock on the E12A. Vocals a bit more forward. Bass a little sloppier.

X7ii - Volume 90/120. A little more controlled. A little more clarity on the guitar and effects.

2. Amon Amarth - Deceiver of the Gods. Typical viking Metal. Not too technical.

iPod - Volume 12 o'clock on the E12A. Slightly more bass, but not as tight.

X7ii - Volume 95/120. Tighter, more controlled. Harsher upper mids.

3. Fleshgod Apocalypse - The Deceipt. Great song. It starts out brutally fast. But goes into this hypnotizing, slow heavy riff at 1:54 that blows my mind. They played this song live and I about lost my schiit.

iPod - Volume 11 o'clock on the E12A. Slightly more bass.

X7ii - Volume 90/120. Slightly more clear, instrument separation.

4. Gojira - Stranded. Good metal recording. Lots of bass.

iPod - Volume 11 o'clock on the E12A. Deep bass, kick drum hitting hard. Slightly muddy.

X7ii - Volume 95/120. Tighter, more controlled. A little better instrument separation.

5. Cosmic Fall - Overhead Intelligence. Psychedelic Space Rock. Groovy bass lines and guitar jams.

iPod - Volume 11 o'clock on the E12A. Lots of bass.Bass is loose.

X7ii - Volume 95/120. Clearer, not as muddy. Bass is tighter.

6. Shylmagoghnar - Emergence. Progressive Black Metal. It's got fast, double kick drums yet recorded really well.

iPod - Volume 11 o'clock on the E12A. Thick sound, kick drum slightly recessed.

X7ii - Volume 100/120. Mids and highs a little more pronounced. Kick drum still slightly recessed.

7. Wo Fat - There's Something Sinister in the Wind. Phat Stoner Doom!

iPod - Volume 11 o'clock on the E12A. Thick and sludgy.

X7ii - Volume 95/120. Less harsh, more controlled.

Overall, there's not a huge difference. It's not day and night. However, the difference was definitely audible to my ears. And I'm not sure how much the file format comes into play versus the DAP. The end result is what I wanted. I wanted a quality DAP to play FLAC files. The FiiO X7 Mark II does this amazingly well. I am very pleased with the audio fidelity.

Um, not to be an internet nanny, but 90-100/120 volume seems like it would be very loud with the V Moda Zn (16 Ohms, 105dB/mW SPL).

Take care of your hearing man. :)

Edit: Also, to get a sense of the quality of the recording master you can check out DR Database:

Nah, everything I have ever tried to listen to is very quiet. When I see people listen at say 9 o'clock on a POT, I'm like how in the hell can you hear that? The only places I have been that are too loud are Metal concerts. And only a few out of the hundreds I've been to needed hearing protection or wish I'd had hearing protection.

I have never met a headphone that is too loud...
