Easy simply use rockbox. I have no problem with a big amount of files with rockbox and the DX50. A good folder stucture is the key point. But enough about OT. I'm really interested how the FiiO X7 will be.
Hey everyone, new to the Head-Fi forum
At the end of the day whether is Fiio or other players someone gonna have an a issue on something once it is available.
So far the X7 looks great. As long the basic fundamentals that are required on a Dap player is working flawlessly, I have no issue.
Of course one or two things added to separate it from the competition can help especially within the price range, as long it works wonders and is a deciding factor that is worth having.
we may produce 64g version in the future. also the size is limited cause when there are too many music files it will take a huge RAM to handle the database for all the music.
i second your motion for a 128GB, 256GB & 512GB internal storage JayiAl. aesthetics so far alone on this Fiio X7 is a $2500,$3500 and even a $4000.00 flagship "KILLA". sign me up james. money trigger lock & loaded for this Fiio X7. i need this expeditiously!!!! unfortunately my AK will have a burial once ordered.chopping block open for business.
Well for $700 the ZX1 has 128gb memory in a single chip Sandisk package, so I don't understand why Chinese dap's can't do the same, maybe being a smaller company makes it hard for them to get good prices? Although the hardware of X7 is looking to be more expensive than ZX1, so it wouldn't be unreasonable for the 128gb X7 to be priced higher than ZX1, but not by to much I should think, $799 for a 128gb X7 would not be to much to ask from Fiio as memory prices have dropped.
The biggest MicroSD available in the market can contain 200 GB of music. Adding 32 GB of internal memory would be 232 GB that might be enough for somebody but not me who has a large library of FLACs. I'm sure that situation will change and affordable microSDs with more capacity will arrive, but for the time being the combination of 32 GB internal memory and 1 microSD slot is a deal-breaker for me. As to me, I'm willing to pay 100 EUR more for 128 GB version.
Besides what is expected battery life of X7? Can it compete with machines like the first generation AK100 and AK120 (about 12 hours of playback)?
