I like it! Fiio's DAP aesthetics have improved substantially in just a short time.

James, your goal should be to completely destroy the current flagship of a certain brand and show them that the brand (disguised with an European name) is a complete rip off in comparison to your players, yet you are able to sell it at a fraction of their price. There gotta be much better sound than the $3,500 rip-off player that I have heard. I wouldn't care less about looks (well I do, but your players' design will do). You are the guy who can show that the other brand is the B&O / Bose in Head-fi.

Agreed I'd love an Astell&Kern but can't afford such luxury. This is a DAP for the rest of us who care about good sound quality too!

  @Joe Bloggs
One weird thing I see there. Why are there 2 volume controls (what seems to be to me at least) on it with one on the right and one on the left? It is for ambidextrous people?

One of the rocker should be for volume, the other one is next / previous key. I guess it will be less confusing if the volume key is + / - instead of arrows.

there are 3 buttons on both side. so the total is 6 buttons.

It's going to be a problem for 1-handed adjustments while in a pocket, James. People will accidentally press the button(s) on the other side of the chassis. I would seriously reconsider this.

+1 Or at least make the shape a little bit different, just enough so that we can recognize it.

I have this problem with my J3 - when I try to squeeze the player when it's in my pocket to change songs or the volume, it's hard to avoid pressing the buttons on the opposite side. Does the edge of the screen also protrude? It looks like it isn't flush with the body. I'd avoid that, too. A case will protect it, but it shouldn't be necessary imo.

Any chance of a world tour James, similar to recent units?

Totally agree.. I do a lot of my listening on the go, this will be a pain. Prefer all buttons on one side like the P1.
