I did some very quick/dirty labeling of the different aspects of the board layout (note that the boxes are not perfect, and may contain errors).

  • Amplifier module power connection
  • Amplifier module analog signal connection
  • Amplifier module power supply regulation components
  • I/V conversion and LPF
  • DAC and SoC supply side power regulation components
  • ES9018S and surrounding decoupling capacitors and other power regulation components
  • Removable memory card slot
  • Removable memory side digital clock reference
  • SoC side clock reference
  • SA2000 CPLD (similar to an FPGA) for jitter regulation and digital demuxing
  • SoC
  • Internal RAM

don't be sad.

i was pretty sad when i found out that having 2xmicrosdcard could had been a joke.

do not worry, the best feature, should be here, which is a very very good SQ.

@JamesFiiO i had seen in the picture, in the upper left corner some empty connectors, could these be for adding an optional wifi or microsd slot, or they are for connecting display?

That one should be for the battery. I think the display connector is on the bottom right next to the cardslot.
The thing that makes me wonder is: why the heck is there a vibration-thing on the righthand side? It's neither a phone nor do you need to receive haptical feedback for notifications. The only purpose could be vibration feedback when tapping the screen like some early generation cellphones with resistive touchscreen have had (though the X7 should have a capacitive touchscreen which wouldn't make it necessary).

maybe it is a wifi antenna that looks funky?

it would make no sense to have vibration without usual smartphone connectivity.

Perhaps for visually impaired? Would be great and forward thinking if it is.

I have opened plenty of portable devices and can tell for sure that is a vibration module that works by rotation and creates an imbalance because there is a weight installed to only one side.

I sort of answered my question what the module may be for in the same sentence: it creates vibration and therefore haptical feedback if you touch the screen.

it is a connector for battery. and there are not second MicroSD slot. very sorry.

So the vibration feedback is not necessary ? it is ok and quite easy to us to remove it from the PCBA

Vibration feedback definitely not necessary to me. I don't like that and turn it off on all my devices.
