Just tried Tidal and Quobuz on Wifi and no problems at all. I also linked to my Bluetooth speaker via BT and no frying bacon thankfully it was all clear as a bell with everything I tried.

Lucky you then.

It wasn't rubbing it in - it was simply providing a data point (as others have done) regarding the bluetooth and/or wifi performance.  You have nothing to apologise about.

What it does show is that the problems people are having cannot be simply software related (or we would all have them), and cannot be related to all X7s (or again we would all have them).

The best bet is to give Fiio as much information as possible - and let them investigate and come up with solutions

And hopefully do a mini revision  Eg : FiiO X7 v2 (improved WiFi, bluetooth and EMI shielding) without making a second generation.

Edit: Basically fix all the tiny issues with the current X7.

I was supposed to get my K5, but USPS decided to be a lazy POS today and not actually go to my room to give me my package. I won't be able to pick it up and give impressions on it + X7 + HD 650 until Monday...

How and where are you playing music to Bluetooth from the X7? Are you using FiiO Music or something else? Did you ever click the specialized bluetooth buttons in the FiiO Music app?

When is FiiO going to properly document the X7 firmware and produce a comprehensive user manual? Currently it feels like users are all being treated as beta trialists on a voyage of discovery.

Here's the X7 User Guide which was completed earlier this month.
Seems people are not aware of it yet though

And here's our effort at documenting the new DLNA function in FiiO Music...

Thank you for the update. It would be very helpful if links to these documents could be available on the FiiO website when they are published. I can see that the DLNA guide is there now but I don't see the user guide.

Thanks for this but are the number of folders limited under DLNA. I can only view up to the end of folders beginning with B and now way to go to other pages.

So according to FiiO's battery condition tests, the AM2 medium module will get about 1 less battery hour vs IEM (AM1) module, http://www.fiio.net/en/products/45/parameters

"3. Pure Music Mode

The operation of the X7 in Pure Music Mode is similar to in Android Mode, with the exception that the X7 will be in FiiO Music all the time. In this mode, all background Android processes will be disabled to allow for a smoother music experience."

I've always wondered what this means as I'm not sure that I can detect a difference between the two. Is "smoother" a subjective audiophile thing or is there an objective, technical definition of "smoother"? Or does this just refer to general UI stuff?

For just plain listening purposes, how are people using FiiO Music and why? As an app in Android mode or in Pure Music Mode.

Simplistic question for a simpleton...don't let the username fool ya!

Sure, was not rubbing, but a realisation that I might have a [somewhat] faulty unit and others not is not very uplifting. Anyways, I am an early adopter, so took the risk. But before I quit dwelling on it (and wait for FiiO investigation results  ), I just wonder - given that you and few others do not report any problems, let alone with wifi and bluetooth - if X7 wifi/bluetooth hardware components are of different revisions/brands? That would be one thing to look at, maybe...
