Here Fiio Music is pretty useless.
It recognize only a minimal fraction of the music stored on the device...

Great ! Downloading and testing right away.
 
I had a bug with v3.1.1 which no one seems to have reported yet : the dap sometimes does not respond to RM1 after being on pause for a few minutes. The only way to get RM1 to control the player again is to turn the screen on. BT connection is not interrupted, and the battery in RM1 is fine.
 
I'll report asap if this no longer happens with 3.1.2. FYI, I stopped having this problem rolling back to 3.0.13.

Kindly note that this is a beta version and might not be stable enough compared to the stable versions. So please think carefully before upgrading with this firmware.

If you have already upgraded the X7's firwmare to the FW3.0beta or a later version, you can download the OTA firmware package, transfer it to the X7 or micro SD card, and upgrade manually through the Technical support app on the X7.

You can post in this thread if you have any issues with this version. But if you encounter serious problems, you may consider flashing back to a stable release.

The following improvements and changes have been made to the FW3.1.2beta compared to the FW3.1.1beta:
1. Added case-insensitive search function;
2. Fixed issue where some multi-channel tracks would be played abnormally;
3. Fixed issue where some WMA tracks would be played abnormally;
4. Fixed issue where the Covolver option in ViPER Effect would not work;
5. Fixed issue where FiiO Music would exit abnormally when playing some .m4a tracks;
6. Fixed issue where the album art display in the FiiO Music main menu would not change when swiping it to change tracks;
7. Fixed issue where when playing the Favorites/playlists, the order of the list will change after re-entering the Now Playing menu;
8.Fixed issue where the sound would only output through one channel when playing a mono track;
9. Fixed issue where the lyrics would not disappear after switching from a track with lyrics to a track without lyrics;
10.Fixed issue where the Gain setting would be reset to Low after restarting the player;
11.Changed the application permission of ES File Manager (now it can be uninstalled);
12.Fixed issue where some null pointers would cause FiiO Music to exit abnormally;
13.Fixed issue where the Android service would stop when using the share function of ES File Manager.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious but starting at #1, case insensitive Search ... where? mine is the same as previous.
 
[Edit] I did reset FiiO app database, deleted FiiO Music and Imageloader folders and a Factory Reset.

Any thought of improving the Bluetooth portion of the x7 whereby when paired to an auto radio, the song will show the name and artist on the vehicle's radio.

Updating to fw3.1.2beta no issue so far with fiio music app, shuffle between song from my entire library with no crash, Running smooth so far I like it.

Sadly, not for me...
The app fail to recognize 4/5 of my music (yes, epic fail!).
Just reverted to FW2.0, media scanning works waaaay better and a lot faster!
Also the sound, seem better to me, but i'm not too sure, i need to listen more this night.

Yeah if you want to stay on the beta's and have the X7 scan all your files you'll have to remove all embedded cover art.  Place one cover art jpg in the album folder and name it cover and I believe there are a couple other names you can use.  The problem with this is if you have several artist on an album you can't do this.  Still amazes me they haven't fixed this yet since it worked on FW2.0 without using this workaround.  They should be able to compare the code and fix this.  I still say they should open source their code and let some of the android community have at it.
