after upgrade to 3.1.12 (and factory reset)

- FiiO Music app crashed numerous times with error and got restarted
- Scanning works intermittently - it didn't work at one attempt - the error was raised during some 3500th song.
After 12 hours and device restart it is scanning much further and it failed around 6000th song.

Error is this:

Error during the random FiiO Music crash is this:

Another error raised during scanning is this:

It just seem you can never get it right..

After executing these commands on the SD Card:

and cleaning the whole card with CleanMyDrive2 software which removes all hidden and junk files and then resetting the whole library database. The scanning still fails on file 6437 with:

Please send me the classes from package com.fiio.music.util and I'll fix it for you.  The simplest solution you could use is to enable debug logging and output the file name. That way, once the exception is raised I will know which file is causing the troubles and I could send it to you for inspection. Please propose this to your developers. Thanks.

Please fiio send the man what he needs.  I'm sure he'll have the scanning issue fixed in no time.

More than 10 betas and scanning not running since the first 3.x beta. Sticking on FW 2.0 because of this bug.

I'm beginning to think about incompetent developers, and bad programming the scanning code.

Scanning is the most important thing, please fix this first.

I'm also seeing "Volume Screen" during scanning without touching in Fiio button.

As your scan works, can you do a test for us?
Remove your MicroSD and replace it with another with different content, after that, try to start the scan and tell us again if it works.
Thank you.

i'll do my best. I have no other content so i'll re-name and re-tag some existing content. the only µSD card I have available is a 4GB card.

Furthermore, the 200GB µSD card I use, is formatted in FAT32. /cc @Brooko

unmounted the 200gb µSD card. plugged in the 4GB µSD card.

scanned the 4gb card, all tracks were scanned perfectly (i properly retagged all tracks, all fields, and renamed all tracks)

unmounted the 4GB µSD card. plugged in the 200GB µSD card.

scanned the 200GB µSD card, all 5858 tracks were scanned.

So, this is a summary of my experience.
FW2.0, media scanning is fine, efficient and quick.
I upgraded to FW 3.1, scanning works flawless, all right.
So I decide to change my content, then change the microSD card (with a bigger one and with more songs), I launched the scans and see immediately that works much, much more slowly.
But the most serious thing is that it does not recognize anymore most of the songs, even the ones who first recognized without problems.
Then I deleted the database, but the scan continue to fail.
In Android option, i've deleted app data and cache, no results at all.
Then I booted the device into recovery mode, wiped the cache and done a factory reset, but the scan continues to fail.
I then decided to do the downgrade to FW2.0, scanning resumes to work perfectly.
But the gapless does not work, then in the evening I decided to retry the upgrade to FW 3.1.1.
Scanning works perfectly!
Thinking about it, I realize that my problem was born when I modified the contents changing microsd, at that time the app is gone in confusion.
I could be wrong, but it's the only logical explanation I can find.

Dear tomwoo,

We will try to add the coaxial DOP out in later firmware. Sorry if bringing inconvenience to you.

Best regards

No worries. Haven't found any other problem with the new firmware.

I had real issues with the betas when i changed cards, the X7 kept rejecting the files as format not supported. I contacted Fiio who were helpful but did not solve the problem.

I reset the database, rebooted etc. and nothing worked, then i tried resetting to factory default settings and wonderfully this worked and all the files scanned and work (i am using alac - apple lossless files)

hope this helps someone.
