The only issue I have had with the Fiio software is the fact that if I embed the album art 400 x 400 jpg in the ID Tag, it will not recognize it on FLAC or WMA files. I'm using dbPowerAmp for all my conversions and tagging. If I put the same jpg file in the folder with the art still embedded - it won't recognize it.

If I remove the embedded album art and put the same jpg file in ONLY the folder - all is good. Don't know if this is the Fiio software issue or a dbPowerAmp issue???

Anyone else experiencing this? Any other all in one conversion / tagging utilities that I should be looking at?

As far as sorting and alphabetizing - all is good. Just as an FYI... I tag all my albums as: Year - Album Title so that albums are listed in Chronological order under the artist.

BRILLIANT!

Proper playback of Hi-Res audio files, no downsampling, proper implementation of UPnP (yeah, Neutron, you don't do this right either), and even sort by ALBUM ARTIST!

All this is missing is full-screen lockscreen art and controls: a SMALL price to pay for such an excellent feature set.

ATTN: FiiO -- download this app and LEARN SOMETHING!

hello, i tried it today, seems like it plays properly Dsd files and it shows fiios max capable freq ----- i dont know if really, but it shows it, in menu bitperfect on ... i cannot see gapples.... but still good news... the UI is much better like before, but still like beta...

Can someone compare the sound if the single ended output with the balanced output?

A YouTube review purely on the balanced output seems to make it seem like the balanced output sounds significantly better than the single ended output.

All my artwork is embedded and the file size of the .jpg or .png file is 500x500 or higher. Usually, I aim for 600x600 as my default.
My artwork always shows with the song playing.
I only use the Fiio app on the player but I know my artwork works on my Ubuntu desktop.

around 8 euros == ~10 usd. i tried it last night on both lg g3 and x5iii. the sound is very good, specifically for g3, i don't know what the app really does but on the phone it uses default android device as it doesn't have hifi dac and the sound is just great.
on x5iii it detected the hifi dac and even though it was a bit slow on first start, it then played tidal right away. i didn't scan my songs but i have what i needed, tidal with equalizer. which responds better than viper eq and fully works. on viper eq the 31hz band has no effect. this adds to the already mention own fiio music eq which does nothing but lower the volume when activated.
i'll buy the app and send an email to developer to ask him if will try to support offline tidal. it's the only thing missing, still the effort is worthwhile. by the way, there is a dedicated uapp thread on headfi.

Just download and install it directly from the app store on the FiiO

An apk file is installed by just "clicking" on it as when opening a file. It is kind of an setup.exe. On the phone it asked me to go to settings and check if i allow installing from unknown source, meaning somewhere outside app store.

I used the Play Store to download my app and after it was done downloading the Play Store asked if I wanted to install. I said yes and it did. How or where are you downloading the app from? (just curious)
