I'm getting a lot of stutters with the newest firmware. Usually at the beginning of a track so initially I was thinking it was gapless related but I noticed it also happens randomly through differing parts of a song. Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas on a fix? I tried rescanning but that hasn't fixed it.
Same here, lots of stutters all the time

No stutters here. How about details of you files, SD Cards, etc.?

I have 2 200gb SD cards, fat32 format with mostly flac cd quality files, some higher res beyond that and some lower res. Again no issue on stutter.

Nor have I. 2X 200GB cards. Mostly FLAC redbook, but some 24/96 and 24/192 and DSD 5.6.

I wonder why this is not universal if it is the firmware?

@FiiO,
I found a bug in FW 1.1.8.
I only use the folder mode in Fiio Music (never scan my music collection and do not use playlists).
So, I have a folder containing a bunch of flac files and a single m3u on an sd card.
When I try to delete the m3u file in the folder (swipe left, tap delete) the UI says the file was successfully removed but in fact it did not.
The only way to get rid of the m3u file was to switch to the Android Mode and use ES File Explorer.
Then I switched back to the Pure Mode and tried to delete flac files - worked as expected.
One more thing - the m3u file was the first file on the list.
We have contacted the engineer about that. It is not a bug. If you need to delete the .m3u playlists from the X5III directly, you may need to use the ES file explorer for help.

Best regards

Whenever I use my X5-3 as a DAC with my laptop it always displays 48 Khz-24 bits no matter what files I play. Is it a bug? I think it's supposed do display actual bit rate, isn't it?
You are choosing the ASIO: FiiO ASIO driver as output in the foobar or other one? If you have already chosen the ASIO as output, the display should change if the song you are playing is in other frequency.

Best regards

Hi @FiiO I have a potential bug to report on FW 1.1.8. I have an album (album: + -; artist: Mew) that didn't seem to be scanned by Fiio Music app. Even when I chose to scan the exact folder (Folder name: "+ -"). Previously it scanned fine.

UPDATE: I tried to change the folder name to "Plus Minus" to see if it was due to Fiio app not being able to handle symbols, and now it works! The Fiio music app can scan the folder now. HOWEVER, it is still not being displayed in the album list. So from the Artist's view, I can see that under "Mew" I have 34 songs in total, but when I checked the album list, I'll only see 2 albums with a total of 24 songs (instead of 3 albums with a total of 34 songs)
In previous firmware, the folder named'+ -' can be scanned fine? From album list, what's the album name of the album you can't find?

Best regards

UPDATE:

As a final test to determine whether or not the charging port was completely fried I took out my OTG cable and hooked it up to Mojo. To my surprise, there was actually a handshake! And the audio was playing out the Mojo into my IEMS.

Then I plugged the x5 into the charger and it started to charge again, hallelujah!

Just yesterday I decided to test the OTG into my Mojo even though I knew it had issues it still sorta played music but with iffy quality. Then after a few minutes, I experienced a weird glitch and had to restart the x5.
The weird glitch must have temporarily bricked the data transfer/charging capabilities of the device.

Ironically, the fix to my problem was what had broken it in the first place.

Long story short, don't use OTG just yet. :deadhorse:
:flushed:After using an OTG cable, the charging function gets to work again, right? We would inform our engineer about that and ask them to have a look in it. Thanks for the kind feedback and sorry for bringing inconvenience to you.
Best regards

Hi, Just received my x5 III. I'm trying to download the latest 1.8 firmware but I get an error message when I try to download it from Fiio's website. When I try an OTA update it says I have the latest version, so far I only installed the 1.7 firmware. Does anyone else have this issue?

Due to file server upgrade, the prodcut firmware and drivers cannot be downloaded from our website right now. We're sorry for any inconvenience this might bring to you. Some friends have already provide the link of FW1.1.8 for you so we don't repeat it again.

Best regards

Hi @FiiO

After update do 1.1.8 (and after factory reset/clear data and cache partition thought booltloader) I found an issue in fiio Music App

When selecting under Artist/Album and press play for example Novelists/Noir, after this album finishes (even though album repeat is selected and play through folders is disable) player start playing Callisto/Noir album; This also causes album art visualization issues under Artist/Album visualization in which randomly shows the album art for the other album (the same is correct under tracks view). Under Album view fiio music shows all files under same album even though they are different albums

Another issue is under one particular artist(that I Could tell) it shows has having 22 musics which is correct) then it only show one album this same album shows in Album view (Name: Dreaming Is Sinking / Waking Is Rising Artist: Dayseeker)

Thanks
I failed to reproduce your issue of playing next album after current album finishes. This issue would happen for some certain album or all of your album? Would it help if you switch off then turn on the 'play through folder' option again?
The album Name: Dreaming Is Sinking / Waking Is Rising Artist: Dayseeker would be put in same album in album list? Which one would be displayed? 22 musics as well?
Best regards

This bugs me, not a major deal but still. Example I had two albums that at one point were tagged incorrectly and showed up as "Rolling Stones" vs. "The Rolling Stones". To fix this in Fiio Music app I changed the tags, imported the songs, update music and nothing happened. So had to delete them from the app and do a re-update. Fixed.

Foobar2000 app, here's what I had to do for it to appear correctly, nothing! It just does it all for you. It's like this when you add new music as well. Why is Fiio Music such a struggle to do things that other apps handle with ease?

:anguished:
It means that after renaming the tag of album and rescaning, the album name from album list never change, right?
Best regards
