If I download by OTA I still have to "Note: After this upgrade, it is suggested to delete the album(internal_sd\FiiOMusic) folder firstly, then scan songs on FiiO Music again. Please make sure the FiiO Music is closed before deleting the album folder. "? How do I delete that?

What is the format of album covers? Because my whole collection covers are named after album title. This works on every Rockboxed device, but I remember that it wasn't on Fiio X5 1st gen.

Not necessarily.  Didn't they switch families from X5ii to X5iii, ti-Burr-Brown to AKM?

Yes, they did. But going to a TI PCM or DSD 1792/1793/1794 A is not that likely as the x5 II had a PCM1792, if I recall correctly. Also from what I read I believe ESS and AKM currently have a slight technological advantage over TI.

Of course the AKM4497 wpuld be an option, but it consumes more power than the AKM4490 in the X5 III.

Using the ESS 9028 would have the advantage of being easier to implement in an X7 successor due to compatibility and would ensure that the top line X7 and the X5 have a slightly different sound signature, giving customers more choice. The 9028 also has a new feature called THD compensation which would reduce THD over the predecessor 9018. The 9028 is used in the IBasso DX200 and in Benchmark DAC 3. 9038, which consumes more power, is used more in desktop dacs such as the top of the line Ayre dac.

Anyone have the same observations/issues?

1) Album view - Chinese/Japanese Kanji titles are mixed into the A-Z sorting. Almost like these characters are translate into pinyin and get inserted into the A-Z sort.

2) When playing a 24bit album, using the physical back button (to go back to the previous track) in quick succession will cause FiiO player to go crazy/hang.

guys odd question :)
which button is prev and which next?
till today I thought the order for all  the buttons like these is:

/\ - NEXT
|
|
\/ - PREV

but fiio seems to be opposite to this.

/\ is previous
|
|
\/ is next.

Think of it like up one level or down one level in the track listing. At least that's what helped me.
